Happy Birthday, Jesus 2024

This year’s “Happy Birthday, Jesus” celebration in Room 2 was filled with joy and family. We were delighted to have families join us for crafts in our classroom, where parents and children worked together to decorate snowflake and manger ornaments.

The children then performed two beautiful songs, “We’re Looking for a King” and “What a Glorious Night,” beautifully capturing the true meaning of Christmas. They did an amazing job!

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who made this event so special, and a special thanks to our room mom and parent volunteers! We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with love, peace, and joy.

“For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” — Luke 2:11

Grandparents Day 2024

This year’s Grandparents Day in Room 2 was a truly special celebration filled with love and joy. The children were thrilled to have their grandparents join them, and their smiles said it all. The highlight of the day was their performance of What a Glorious Night. The children sang with enthusiasm, and the grandparents beamed with joy! It was so sweet to have the grandparents visit our classroom after.

Thank you to all the grandparents who came and made the day so special — your presence was a gift that the children will treasure forever! Here’s to many more wonderful memories shared with those who hold such a special place in our hearts!

“Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.” -Proverbs 17:6

Stone Soup Days 2024

We are excited to share that our class, along with the toddler class, won the soup contest! Our Stone Soup Days were a great success, and that’s thanks to the wonderful participation of our Room 2 families. We deeply appreciate everyone who signed up and a special thank you to all the moms and dads who volunteered their time to help cook and serve. The children had an amazing time celebrating, and we are so grateful for each of you. As we approach Thanksgiving, we give thanks to the Lord for all of you and pray you have a blessed time with your loved ones, filled with reflection on His goodness and faithfulness.

Farm Field Trip 2024 – Room 2

We had an amazing time at Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark, CA! Highlights included the Vegetable Show, Tractor Ride, Vegetable Picking, and the Farm Animal Show. We also had the chance to visit the Farm Animal Center and feed the animals! Enjoy this video from Room 2 capturing all the fun!

In Everything Give Thanks

This month in Preschool, we are focusing on the theme of Thankfulness! As 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 reminds us, “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Throughout the month, we will read books, sing songs, and reflect on the things we are grateful for during circle time. Here are some of the books we are enjoying:

Thanksgiving is for Giving Thanks

If You’re Thankful & You Know It

Grateful: A Song of Giving Thanks
by John Bucchino

Our class created Thankful Turkeys! Each student used their fine motor skills to paint paper plates and cardboard tubes, which we let dry overnight. The next day, the teacher wrote down each child’s thankful thoughts on feather cutouts. Students then added feathers, a beak, a waddle, and sticker eyes to complete their turkey crafts. We invite you to stop by our classroom bulletin board to see what our class is thankful for. Here are a few pictures of our students working on their Thankful Turkeys!
