Room 3 had an amazing time this week celebrating winter in all its white and snow-filled glory. Rice Krispie snowballs were made with a little bit of blue food coloring. In addition, the children had the opportunity to create snow art. Look forward to the new adventures that will be had in the future and here’s a hint…”full steam ahead!”
Month: January 2018
Happy New Year and Welcome to 2018!
It’s a brand new year and that means new adventures for us in Room 3. However, that doesn’t mean we should forget the end of 2017. As an acknowledgement to end of the year, please enjoy the Happy Birthday Jesus performance and the other various picture of activities and fun that was had.
January Fun in Room 4
Welcome to the year “2018.” We pray for all our children, parents and families out there in need of God’s ever lasting love.
We started this month by exposing the children to the first letter of their name. We used cards with each child’s name, photo, and an enlarged letter of their first name to help them recognize both letters and name.
We have been talking about rain and how rain can be cold and sometimes turn into ice. We froze some water with Arctic animals. We touched the ice and had discussions on the kinds of animals inside. We also investigated what is happening to the ice with the sun. Continue reading “January Fun in Room 4”
Learning About Pop Art & Andy Warhol
This week I started the series of lessons of “Meet the Masters”. We will be learning about different artists and the impact they made on art history. I wanted to start the new year with a “Pop of Color.” Andy Warhol was an American artist who started the movement of Pop Art in the 60’s was a commercial illustrator and producer and he made screen printed art pieces. We looked at several of his prints but specifically “Flower, 1964”. The students then painted their own take on that piece. -Mrs. Monica
January 2018 Preschool News and Calendar of Events
Happy New Year! It was so nice to see everyone this morning and hear of all the fun holiday adventures the children had over the break. We hope you all had a blessed time of togetherness and renewing with family.
Now that we are into the new year, we are ready to begin learning about all things winter! While we don’t experience a ‘true’ winter here, classrooms try to bring in winter fun with winter-themed toys, sensory snow, and more!
