March

There have been a lot of changes this month! We have started small groups again and there are so many birthdays. Here are a few pictures of our busy, busy month.

Small groups have been missed and we are so glad that we can do them again; we are counting and creating and learning!
Counting with ladybugs and mixing play dough are just a couple of activities that we have done lately. We learned that blue and yellow mixed together make a beautiful green.
We watched a short video about St. Patrick and how he taught others about God.
We also painted caterpillars using blue and yellow paint. Mixing is fun!
Outside is always lots of fun! We have an area for concerts and we love to dress up and sing.
A friend brought an egg and we got to dissolve it in water and see the surprise inside. It was fun and exciting!
We love looking at our caterpillars! They started so small and grow every day. We also love seeing our parent volunteers! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm.
Birthday celebrations are so much fun. We are glad we get to celebrate each birthday.
Even though we have clear skies we have been having fun with umbrella and pretending that it is raining.

We also had a visit from an orthodontist last week. He read us a book about how animals take care of their teeth and we talked about how we take care of ours. He also brought David the dinosaur and showed us how to properly brush our teeth.

All of this and the month isn’t even over yet! We are looking forward to all of the exciting things we have coming next and we will keep you all posted.

BLUE AND YELLOW

We are introducing the color green in our class. Reading the book “Little blue and little yellow,” has been a great start. Making blue and yellow playdough and having the kids squeeze and roll the color together was a great hands on experience. Painting on the easel with green was fun and messy, in the dramatic area we have green hats, necklaces and head bands for the kids to wear. We had many more activities that displayed something green sorting by attributes, painting shamrocks with blue and yellow and treasure hunting.

GREEN THEME ACTIVITIES

We read, “Green Eggs and Ham,” and ate the green eggs and ham too.

Dr. Seuss’ Birthday – Tuesday, March 2nd

Dr. Seuss wrote more than 46 children’s books and stories that have shaped and continue to impact the world of early childhood literature. We will be celebrating him at preschool by reading several of his books this year. Thank you Dr. Seuss for firing our imaginations, our love of rhyme, and introducing us to the worlds inside of books.

Preschool Chapel – Friday, March 11th

Our Fruit of the Spirit for the month of March is Gentleness. We will be discussing gentleness and the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Since it is March, we also reference St. Patrick and how he used the clover to explain the nature or the trinity (three in one). Chapel is always a wonderful time spent together in worship, fellowship, and praising the Lord.

St. Patrick’s Day – Thursday, March 17th

With a touch of the blarney, we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this year with leprechauns, shamrocks, and so much more. The story of St. Patrick is also a wonderful time to talk about the call to spread the gospel with the world.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
