Our Apple Pumpkin Days were so much fun!
On Day 1, the children made apple donuts using round apple slices with delicious toppings. They also enjoyed apple stamping with red, green, and yellow paints. Earlier this week, the children participated in a blindfolded taste test of red and green apples, shared their favorites, and we created an Apple Tasting Graph. We also carved a pumpkin and explored its seeds and gooey insides!
A special thank-you to our parent volunteers, Ms. Alice (Luna’s mom) and Ms. Kelli (Dylan’s mom), for helping with our activities and reading Ten Apples Up on Top by Dr. Seuss and The Pumpkin Patch Parable by Liz Curtis Higgs.

On Day 2, we made delicious pumpkin waffles with yummy toppings. We explored pumpkins, gourds, and squash through still-life paintings and tissue paper pumpkin crafts, and we carved another pumpkin and created a pumpkin volcano to observe a chemical reaction!
Our wonderful parent volunteers, Ms. Julie (Eve’s mom) and Ms. Anna (Timmy’s mom), helped with our activities and read The Pumpkin Patch Parable by Liz Curtis Higgs and The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming to the children.

Through our apple and pumpkin activities, the children explored their senses, practiced their fine motor skills, expressed their creativity, explored colors, shapes, and textures through art, observed a chemical reaction with our pumpkin volcano, and developed listening and comprehension skills through stories.
A heartfelt thank-you to all our families who signed up to donate ingredients for our food activities and generously donated pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes! We truly appreciate your support in making our Apple Pumpkin Days special. The children had so much fun!
