¡Feliz Navidad!

¡Feliz Navidad, Amigos!🎄

WELCOME BACK! We missed you!😊

Can you believe tomorrow is our last day of school before our Winter Break?!🎅🏼

We feel the same!😱

This holiday season has had us so busy and full of activities, and it’s been amazing to have opportunities to spend time together with grandparents, friends, and family! We had such a wonderful day celebrating on Grandparents’ Day!

[Room 2 friends did a great job of making their guests feel so welcomed! We had a precious time together.]

Not to mention, Room 2 and Room 1 joined forces and gave a SPECTACULAR performance over at the big school! We sang “This is What Christmas Means to me,” by Tommy Walker and it was so good! God was praised with full hearts and big smiles all around!(Including tears of joy from their teachers!)

WE ARE SO PROUD!😍

As we learned our song this season, Room 2 has been learning the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate; Jesus. He is why. Because He came. Because God kept His promise to the world and sent a Savior. God’s big love for us, and His perfect plan to reconcile us back to Himself, through Jesus’ birth and ultimate death on the cross. That’s what we celebrate on Christmas. That God the Father made a way through His Son, Jesus. “Emmanuel…” God with us. It’s beautiful! We are part of the most beautiful and truest love story that’s ever been. So we sing! We dance! We praise! We rejoice! He is worthy, forever and ever!!✨We hope that as you spend time with your loved ones this Christmas and New Year, you would be reminded of God’s big love for you, and of what He did for you… He demonstrated to us our value and worth by coming to earth, and dying on a cross 33 years later. We were worth that great sacrifice. And He LIVES!! He rose 3 days later and He is alive! So we REJOICE!! Jesus is ALIVE! And we hope that you feel the nearness of His presence as you share precious moments together with family and friends. These moments are small glimpses of heaven.❤

[Some pictures from our family celebration at the preschool, “Happy Birthday, Jesus!”]

We love you and are deeply blessed and thankful for each of our Room 2 friends and their families. We can’t wait to see what God has planned for us in 2017, and more than that, we can’t wait to see how God continues to transform and grow our hearts for Him, each other, our loved ones, and the world around us!🌎💕 We love you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love,

Miss Wendy💜, Miss Kira💚, and Ms. Daisy💛

Cooking for Christmas

Today in Room 5 we baked gingerbread cookies! We practiced literacy skills as we read the recipe together, math skills as we measured and counted our ingredients, and learned important lessons about science and nature as we manipulated those ingredients to see them transform into gingerbread dough! We counted using one-to-one correspondence as we laid our cookies out on their baking sheet and enjoyed listening to a reading of “The Gingerbread Man” as we gobbled them up with our snack. Yum!

Tree Lighting🎄

The past few days our children have been bringing various ornaments to put up on our Christmas tree. We all looked forward to the day when we would be able to hang them up. The children got a chance to hang up their very own ornament brought from home. After, we turned off all the classroom lights and watched our tree light up!

All of this was followed up with delicious hot chocolate, cookies and marshmallows😋

Snow Day!

It was SNOWING in the younger pod today! Teachers and children alike enjoyed some very entertaining snow-play “California-style” (no gloves needed and eco-conscious!).

PS- excuse the gurgling fish tank in the background…I caught this impromptu moment from my office 😉.

¡Adios, November!

It’s pretty surreal, but November has quickly left us!🍂

We had such a strong month, full of wonderful moments. One of our favorites was when Room 2 visited Underwood Farms!🐔🐮🐷🐶🐴

We were SO blessed to go on this adventure together! The best part was that we got to do it as a family! Many parents, grandparents, and chaperones joined us and this made for one of the best days we’ve ever had!

We had the chance to learn from some of the farmers on-site, about how veggies grow! But our most exciting moment came when we got to go out to the farm and pick our own veggies, right from the ground! SO COOL!! Jesus is so wonderful!! It was so precious and beautiful to do this with our friends and family!❤️

We had a spectacular time!! We want to be sure to thank each parent, grandparent, and chaperone that came!! Apart from it being a special day to explore, more than anything, having everyone together like that reminds us all just how blessed we truly are, and how good our God is to give us sweet tastes of heavenly fellowship here in earth, and in our classroom. We are such a beautiful family, and our hearts are stirred for God and for what He is doing in our classroom. It’s so majestic to see His love in the hearts of our Room 2 friends, and in their families. Amen to that!💫

We wanted to share a message with you all and let you know that Miss Wendy is currently working on creating a private folder, for all of our extra  pictures that sometimes don’t make it on to the blog!(WE HAVE SO MANY!!) And we will communicate with you on how to access it, once it’s ready to go! In the mean time, keep checking back here for more updates, and we’ll see you soon!

All our love,

Room 2 ❤️

Parachute fun!

Last week, the friends in Room 3 were able to experience something a bit newer on the Big Field. Previously, they had fun playing with small parachute men, but now they got the chance to play with a gigantic parachute! We played a “Cat and Mouse” game and had fun running under the parachute. Look forward to seeing more fun games and activities in the near future!

Pumpkin DROP!

To celebrate how thankful we are for pumpkins, we decided to let them go with a bang. Well, it’s more of a thump, but the end result is the same: scattered pumpkin and seeds galore. Brave volunteers stepped onto the ladder and began dropping the pumpkins. Children from the entire school witnessed this spectacle and we all wished them goodbye… at least until next year.
