Water play and fun galore!

Room 3 had an awesome time this week playing with water and listening to stories in the Monrovia Library. On Tuesday we had the opportunity to splash in pools on the Big Field. We went to Chapel on Wednesday and learned about Jonah and the Whale. On Thursday we went to the Monrovia library and read stories, danced, had lunch and ate Yogurtland. We had a chance of plans on Friday due to the heat, but that meant that the kids were able to enjoy a bouncy house filled with water! As a bonus we made ice cream to defeat the heat. Overall, it was an incredibly hot and fun filled week.

Kickoff to an awesome summer!

Room 3 had lots of fun this week exploring the classroom and outdoors. Whether it be our new summer toys inside the classroom or the fun activities outside the clsssroom, there were a variety of activities for the kids to enjoy. Our Alaskan theme was well matched our “snowman” cooking project and the Wolf show. We’re happy to say that this was an amazing start to what will be a fantastic summer filled with excitement.

St. Patrick’s Celebration in Room 3!

Room 3 had an awesome time making delicious and healthy smoothies. What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day than to make a green smoothie? We used peaches, pineapples, mangos, strawberries, bananas, spinach, and coconut milk to create our concoction. Many of our kids loved learning about St. Patrick’s day and they certainly loved drinking the smoothie.

❤️Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️ from Room 3 ❤️

We have been having a fantastic time celebrating the month of love here in Room 3. On Valentine’s Day and the Wednesday after, we made scrumptious heart shaped French Toast with Strawberry Jam, Yum! We would like to give a special thank you to Amelie’s Mom and Dad for coming in to cook with us on Wednesday. In addition to our cooking project, we also decorated Valentine treat bags to collect our Valentine’s Day loot. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously, the kids loved all their special Valentines. We still have two weeks left in our month long celebration of love and we look forward to seeing what comes next.

Meerrrryyy Chrriiissttmmasss!!

Room 3 had a lot of fun over the last couple of days before the long break. In celebration of the holidays to come, we had the chance to dress up in our jammies, make some Christmas colored Rice Krispie treats and played with powdered snow! It was an incredibly fun and exciting week and we wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing all of you in 2017 and until then, stay safe and stay warm!

Parachute fun!

Last week, the friends in Room 3 were able to experience something a bit newer on the Big Field. Previously, they had fun playing with small parachute men, but now they got the chance to play with a gigantic parachute! We played a “Cat and Mouse” game and had fun running under the parachute. Look forward to seeing more fun games and activities in the near future!

Pumpkin DROP!

To celebrate how thankful we are for pumpkins, we decided to let them go with a bang. Well, it’s more of a thump, but the end result is the same: scattered pumpkin and seeds galore. Brave volunteers stepped onto the ladder and began dropping the pumpkins. Children from the entire school witnessed this spectacle and we all wished them goodbye… at least until next year.

Delightful Pumpkin Delight

Room 3 had an amazing time this week celebrating the season of orange pumpkins and falling leaves. We were all able to make and taste a delectable creation that we call, “Pumpkin Delight.” With the help of the children, a sweet, soft and moist treat was baked in honor of Autumn and its signature fruit, pumpkins.

 Big Field, Loads of Fun.

This week, Room 3 had an amazing time going up to the main campus and playing on what we call the “Big Field.” The children get to do all sorts of things such as playing with balls, popping bubbles, chasing Mr. Timmy and playing a variety of games. The first game we started playing was Red light, Green light and it was a blast. The children made it more fun by striking poses when they had to stop. Please look forward to hearing about many more games in the future from both teachers and the children from Room 3.
