News and Reminders 2025

We adore the month of love and look forward to all the exciting things happening as we celebrate!

Since it is the month of love, we will focus on where love comes from for chapel. After all, G.O.D. is L.O.V.E. We look forward to coming together to worship and celebrate God’s love for each of us and our love for Him and each other.

1 John 4:7-12

Each classroom will celebrate the holiday with special festivities on Thursday, February 13th, and Friday, February 14th. Please be sure to look for classroom-specific details about what they’ll be doing, including how each classroom will handle Valentine’s Day favors.Β

Here are a few quick suggestions…

  • Avoid edible treats. Instead, themed pencils, crayons, erasers, stickers, or other small items would be great gifts.
  • Simple and small is always best.
  • On the cards, sign – To:Β My FriendΒ  Β  Β  Β  Β From:Β Your Child’s Name
  • Due to flux schedules, not all the kids know each other, but it is easier to give to everyone than to figure out who comes on which day. The classrooms will provide a total head count for each room.
  • Avoid the β€œBoy/Girl” Valentine trap. Allow your child to select the Valentine’s they wish to give instead of worrying about how many boys and girls there are. The kids get so much more out of the reflected diversity of their peers’ interests and the things they want to give.
  • You are not obligated to give out Valentine’s cards or treats, but you are welcome to participate as you see fit.

While we don’t typically study American history or civics deeply as part of the preschool experience, we are happy to celebrate two of our nation’s most influential leaders and the role presidents play in shaping and guiding our country.

My concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right. – Abraham Lincoln

We are excited to announce an on-site field trip to the snow this winter! Starting Tuesday, February 18th, we are turning the yard into a winter wonderland with snow! Arctic Glacier, an outside company specializing in snow/ice events, will provide the snow. Each classroom will have an opportunity to explore the frosty fun as an extension of their classroom’s yard time.

We recommend bundling up your little ones on those days and sending snow-appropriate clothes, footwear, and extra clothes to change into after the event.

*This event will be postponed if the forecast calls for rain on either of our planned days.

It is time to capture those adorable preschool smiles once again! Preschool Picture Days have arrived.

The preschool will host School Pictures from Julie Lilly Photography on Thursday, February 20th, and Friday, February 21st Please look out for more information from your child’s teachers about which day has been assigned to you.

Families will receive an envelope for their child’s picture purchase the week prior toΒ PictureΒ DaysΒ (February 10th-14th).Β Please complete it and return it to the preschool office on or beforeΒ PictureΒ Day.Β  Β

Please let us know if you have any questions; we are happy to help!!

Staying Healthy at Preschool

We want to thank all of our families for their support and understanding as we navigate the winter months and the challenges of keeping our preschool healthy and safe. A few things to keep in mind…

If you notice your child is under the weather or displaying any signs or symptoms of potential illness, please exercise caution, keep them home, and monitor their condition. While most preschool illnesses are common and pass quickly, some are much more concerning, such as RSV.

State regulations also remind us that children may not attend school if they have had a fever, vomited, or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours. This means if your child experiences any of these conditions, they must stay home from school the following day and may return to school the day after. For example, if they have a fever on Monday, the potential first day back would be Wednesday. The same standard holds true if a child is sent home from school with any of these issues.

Please know that our team will be monitoring our kiddos, and we will contact families if we spot signs or symptoms while they’re on campus. Conversely, we appreciate parent support in our staff’s discernment regarding a child’s presence at school. Often, sick children may be cleared by a doctor to return to school but may present minor symptoms such as a lingering cough or runny nose.

Our team greatly appreciates parent notification when their child is out due to illness. It’s essential for tracking, informing other families if needed, and potentially preventing further spread. Those notifications also give us peace of mind and allow us to keep you in our prayers.

GRANDPARENTS DAY 2024

It was truly a wonderful experience to have our grandparents here at Pasadena Christian Preschool!! The excitement from the grandchildren was palpable as they eagerly anticipated this special day. Apple Leading up to the event, we enjoyed countless fun rehearsals, practices, and preparations. The children worked so hard, and their dedication shone through as they learned sign language for β€œSilent Night,” as well as the motions and lyrics for β€œOh What a Special Night.” Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces made all the effort worthwhile, and we are so great full for your support in making this event memorable! Thank you for being a part of our preschool community.

This was truly a special event filled with joy and nostalgia! The grandparents had the opportunity to see their grand children’s artwork and class projects. Many grandparents expressed their heartwarming feelings.
The mix of emotions tears, laughter, and joy really captured the essence,

β€œMERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BLESSED HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025”
Moments like these help us foster strong family bonds and creat lasting memories.

Out with the old, in with the new: Hello 2025!

As we move into a new year, we want to reminisce on how wonderful the last one was. December was especially magical and memorable for us here at PCS. From festive crafts to joyful celebrations, we filled our days with creativity, learning, and laughter. Here is a look back at the activities that made this year extra special:

We decorated our classroom Christmas tree with special ornaments that the kids brought from home.

Our little artists were busy creating seasonal masterpieces! From gingerbread houses to glittery ornaments, the children explored textures, colors, and their imaginations. Some of these crafts were extra special because they were made in collaboration with parents.

The highlights of December were our Grandparent and Happy Birthday Jesus celebrations. Grandparents and parents joined us for songs, crafts, and a special performance by the children. The preschool was filled with joy as we sang holiday songs and shared gratitude to God for a wonderful year.

We read classic holiday stories during outdoor play, in the coziest library nook. We had a delicious hot cocoa treat, in our pajamas, then, Mr. Tim came into our classroom and read a Christmas favorite, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. ‘Twas a wonderfully cheery day!

As we reflect on all the fun and growth from this past year, we’re excited about what the new year will bring. Thank you to our incredible preschool families for your support and involvement.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

Ms. Mariza, Ms. Ray, & Ms. Jas

Happy Birthday, Jesus 2024

This year’s “Happy Birthday, Jesus” celebration in Room 2 was filled with joy and family. We were delighted to have families join us for crafts in our classroom, where parents and children worked together to decorate snowflake and manger ornaments.

The children then performed two beautiful songs, “We’re Looking for a King” and “What a Glorious Night,” beautifully capturing the true meaning of Christmas. They did an amazing job!

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who made this event so special, and a special thanks to our room mom and parent volunteers! We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with love, peace, and joy.

β€œFor today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” β€” Luke 2:11

Grandparents Day 2024

This year’s Grandparents Day in Room 2 was a truly special celebration filled with love and joy. The children were thrilled to have their grandparents join them, and their smiles said it all. The highlight of the day was their performance of What a Glorious Night. The children sang with enthusiasm, and the grandparents beamed with joy! It was so sweet to have the grandparents visit our classroom after.

Thank you to all the grandparents who came and made the day so special β€” your presence was a gift that the children will treasure forever! Here’s to many more wonderful memories shared with those who hold such a special place in our hearts!

πŸ₯˜πŸ²Stone Soup πŸ₯˜πŸ²

We have a Preschool tradition of making Stone soup each year and even though we don’t always add the stone we still have the most important ingredient. Sharing.

Here is a slideshow of what we did for those two days!

The class got to make bread with Ms. Heather so we had soup and homemade bread.

Thank you all for donating both the ingredients and for your time. The class loved having all of our parent volunteers and everything that was brought for our special celebration.

We also wrapped up the week with the annual pumpkin drop. As one of the oldest classes on the preschool side we got to help clean up and keep some of the seeds from the drop. It really was a fun and full week.
