Today, our preschool participated in the Great California ShakeOut, and we couldn’t be prouder of the kiddos for their remarkable performance during the emergency drill. After a thorough “duck and cover” practice in our cozy classrooms, we congregated on the “big field,” surrounded by eager elementary and junior high students who were simulating an actual disaster, complete with an emergency triage first-aid station. The entire drill lasted almost 25 minutes, but throughout the experience, our young learners displayed incredible focus, listening intently to their teachers and following directions with unwavering enthusiasm. Their commitment to safety shone brightly, making the event both educational and inspiring. The children were also delighted to see members of the Pasadena Police and Fire Department on campus to witness our drill.
Great job, everyone!
Lucky us, the firefighters came and visited our littles! 🚒
they talk to us about a firefighters job and the importance of what they do. They also showed us their suits, gear, how their truck works, the water hose, and of course the siren 🚨
we had so much fun and even got stickers at the end!

We had so much fun walking up and down the balancing beams practicing our gross motor skills!
Our friends also got to explore our sensory bins with their senses (touching, seeing, feeling, & smelling) 🤗
We also worked on our fine motor skills with beading and matching different shapes and objects.

Having the firefighters visit the preschool was such a treat and a great introduction to Fall. The kids had a blast learning fun facts (e.g., firefighters won’t go into a burning building to save pets) and answering some questions (e.g., what 3 numbers do you dial to reach firefighters?) about firefighting.

The firefighters allowed each and every student to try out the fire house!

On Friday, the firefighters picked a teacher volunteer to try on the fire suit. That’s Ms. Silvia above. (The kids learned that firefighters have to put on their suit in one minute or less.)

Thank you Pasadena Fire Department!

Using our five senses, taste, smell, touch, hear, and sight with all different kinds of apples.

Our friends took their first visit to the big school and had lots of fun on the yard! we had a lot of fun running, playing, and seeing a different view 🏃
