January has been a month full of fun activities. We’ve been rotating between songs and stories about the snow and the farm to prepare the children for what’s to come. We also have done some practice laps to get them ready for the fun run. We talked about hay, animal sounds, and did different animal movement songs to get ready for the farm. The children went on a hay ride, learned about and picked fruits and veggies, and fed different farm animals. The snow days were packed with fun building snowmen, sledding down a snow hill, making snow angels and gentle snowball fights.

It’s a new year and the weather faired perfect for our annual field trip to Underwood Family Farms!
We had an awesome turnout and just a blast this Friday learning about the phases of vegetation, how to pick certain crops, bumping along on the tractor, plucking vegetables straight out of the ground, feeding farm animals (chickens, goats, potbelly pigs) and more.
The kids witnessed The Animal Show! Rats racing, pigs snorting, and cats a-rolling.
God truly blessed our day, and we’re very grateful he allowed everything to go well.
Our Room 2 families had a wonderful time on our field trip to Underwood Family Farms. We were thankful for the beautiful weather and smooth day as our children arrived excited and ready to explore and learn! We enjoyed the Vegetable Show, where we learned about how produce grows, followed by a fun tractor ride and hands-on experience picking seasonal vegetables to take home.
After lunch, we gathered for the Animal Show and had so much fun watching the farm animals perform fun tricks. We also had the opportunity to walk around and feed some of the animals. It was such a joy to see the children’s curiosity and excitement throughout the day!
We also enjoyed the farm’s play areas, including the slides through farm machinery, tunnels, and wooden trains! We are grateful for the time spent together and for our Room 2 families who joined us and helped make this field trip so special.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1). “You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly” (Psalm 65:9-10). We thank God for His beautiful creation and for a joyful day of exploring, playing, and learning together! 🌾🐷🚜💛
What a fun and festive-filled December we’ve had! We drank hot cocoa, gathered to enjoy ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas,’ along with our other favorite Christmas stories, and got cozy for our PJ days. Thank you to Mr. Tim for reading the Grinch story to us in Room 4!
The children did an amazing job for Grandparent’s Day and Happy Birthday, Jesus; we are so proud of them!
We wish you a Merry Christmas and may you have a happy New Year (:
Happy New Year! We are so excited to be back together at preschool in 2026. Here are a few quick reminders about what we will look forward to this month.
Preschool Chapel – Friday, January 9th
This month’s chapel will focus on the Magi’s visit and revisit the details of the nativity story. Often, we see depictions of the Magi worshiping Jesus in the stable, but it actually took them an additional year to find Him. We look forward to exploring the story and uncovering additional details about their significant arrival and the gifts they bring.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Mon., January 19th – PRESCHOOL CLOSED
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, observed annually on the third Monday in January, honors the life and legacy of the iconic civil rights leader. Dr. King’s commitment to justice, equality, and nonviolence led to transformative change in American society, inspiring generations to fight for civil rights and social justice. The holiday serves as a reminder of his enduring message that progress is achieved through unity, peaceful action, and a deep commitment to justice for all. It is a day for reflection, education, and community service as we continue to work toward the ideals Dr. King championed.
At the preschool, we approach the concept of social justice at an age-appropriate level by acknowledging the meaningful contributions of historical figures such as MLK and, more specifically, by reflecting on the love and nature of God. God teaches us that we are all created in His image (Gen. 1:26), that we are all one in Christ Jesus (Eph. 5:21), that we are called to stand for others (Prob. 31:8-9), and most importantly, to love God and each other. (Matt. 22:37-39, John 15:12).
