“GETTING TO KNOW PERSONALITIES”

Having the children make fun and silly faces for our camera gave us a sweet glimpse into each child’s unique personality! They had so much fun choosing their favorite silly pose and showing off their creativity. It was wonderful to see their smiles, laughter, and playful personalities shine through. September is Hispanic Heritage Month, and we have been celebrating by bringing the beauty of the Spanish language and Latin culture into our classroom! The children enjoy singing the days of the week in Spanish, along with familiar songs such as *La Araña Pequeñita*, *A la Rurru Rurru Niño*, *Brilla, Brilla Estrellita*, and other classic Spanish children’s songs. It has been wonderful to see their smiles and excitement as they learn through music, movement, and play!

Play is an important part of how young children learn and grow. Through play, children learn by touching, feeling, seeing, listening, and using a combination of their senses to explore the world around them. As they play, they are developing skills in many areas, including math, science, language, social-emotional development, problem-solving, and everyday life skills. What may look like “just play” is actually meaningful learning that helps children build confidence, curiosity, creativity, and a strong foundation for future learning.
