Room 3 has been ringing in Hispanic Heritage Month with lots of fun activities, but we’ve had the most fun with our Taco Saga! 🌮📚
For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been reading Dragons Love Tacos and Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel, and we were inspired to bring the story to life by making tacos together as a class!
We made sure the children learned about all of the ingredients mentioned in the books, and our wonderful families generously provided those same ingredients for our taco-making adventure. During snack time, we placed a spoonful of each ingredient on the children’s napkins, reviewed the story together, and then let the children build their very own tacos to enjoy!
And, just like the dragons in the story, none of the children wanted the spicy salsa! 😄🌶
It was such a fun, hands-on way to connect literacy, and of course…tacos! ❤️🌮
