News and Reminders 2025

Can you believe we are already in the last month of the school year? Time has flown by since our first week together in August! We have had a wonderful year at preschool, and we are excited about what is still to come in the weeks ahead.

We are excited to invite you to our Open House at the preschool, which will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is a drop-in event, so feel free to come by at your convenience and bring the whole family. Each classroom is working hard to prepare for our families’ visits, and we look forward to sharing what’s been happening on our campus.

Additionally, this is a great opportunity to explore our elementary campus, which will be hosting its Open House from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., including an Art Show in the school auditorium featuring work from all our preschoolers. We hope to see everyone there!

The first whole week of May is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week. Our fantastic teachers and staff do a tremendous job, and we look forward to showing them our gratitude.

Please take a peek at your teacher’s Favorite Things Pages for inspiration, too.

*Participation is entirely optional but greatly appreciated.

For May, our Fruit of the Spirit is Goodness. We will explore what occurred after Christ rose from the tomb and how God sent a special helper, the Holy Spirit, to guide us in following Jesus.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Get a jump on summer and the upcoming school year by picking up your 2025-2026 Preschool Licensing Packets at the preschool front desk starting the week of May 12th.

You’re invited to join us for our annual end-of-the-year picnic! Families will enjoy water play, glitter tattoos, crafts, snow cones, popcorn, spending time with friends, meeting new families, and more. So please join us for all the fun!

  • WHEN: Saturday, May 17th, 11 AM to 1 PM
  • WHERE: PCS Field – Parking: Garfield Lot @ 1492 N. Garfield Ave.
  • COST: $5.00 (per person), includes a hot dog lunch & all activities.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic time together!

We will celebrate the end of the school year with our traditional classroom Pizza Parties. Of course, the preschool will provide pizza, but there will be classroom sign-ups for additional side items such as fruit, paper goods, and table décor. The classrooms will share those sign-ups around the middle of May.

The preschool will be closed to celebrate and remember all the brave men and women who have and continue to uphold and defend our nation here in the United States and around the world. Their service and sacrifice are greatly appreciated and deserve profound recognition and unceasing gratitude. Thank you for your service.

We felt that aloha was the perfect sentiment for the last two days of our preschool year. So, hello to summer, goodbye to our year together, and of course, I love you.

We invite all the kids to dress in their brightest, most tropical, and Hawaiian best on Wednesday and Thursday. We will also celebrate the conclusion of our year with special photo opportunities at drop-off and much more.

This year has been amazing! It is a blessing to watch the children grow, and we are excited to celebrate the students who will be moving on to the next phase of their education, whether here at PCS or beyond.

This year, we will host our traditional promotion ceremony on the main campus in the auditorium from 6 to 7 p.m. The Room 1 & 2 kiddos have been rehearsing some adorable songs and can hardly wait to share them.

Keep your eyes peeled for your invitation, which will include all the details.

The preschool will be closed to students for cleaning and summer prep. However, the preschool office will be open to answer questions and assist with any summer paperwork that may still need to be completed before camp begins.

Our first session of Fun in the Sun: Deep Sea Discovery! and Kinder Camp will kick off on Monday, June 9th. Summers at the preschool are chock-full of good times and new adventures, and we can hardly wait to get started.

Summer Camp Registration

Will you join this year’s Fun in the Sun or Kinder Camp? If so, please submit your registration forms as soon as possible. Spaces are filling up quickly. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the fun at preschool this summer.

Just a friendly reminder of our Preschool Parking Lot Rules/Requests

  1. Please drive carefully, keeping an eye on speed and kiddos in the lot.
  2. Children should be directed to stay on the sidewalk during pick-up and drop-off except when accessing their vehicles. Little people are very hard to spot between cars.
  3. Our lot’s limited spaces make quick drop-offs and pick-ups ideal.

Thanks for helping us keep our little ones safe, healthy, and happy.

🐣 Easter 🐣

Easter has just passed and we had a lovely time. We started before the actual holiday with our copy of Benjamin’s Box as well as a set of Resurrection Eggs. Using both we went through the events of Palm Sunday to Easter morning and His resurrection.

We also read the story from the Bible and made comparisons.
Each item represents part of the Easter story.

We also had some egg hunts. Here are a few photos of the class quickly finding the eggs!

The class had a lot of fun both finding the eggs and seeing the treats that were inside. We both learned and played! 😊

Easter at PCS: Room 3 Edition

Hello all, and happy belated Resurrection Day/Easter! We had a grand ol’ time in room 3, and the children learned so much about Jesus before, leading up to and after the crucifixion. We know how heavy the subject is, so we balanced it out with some fun art projects (the empty tomb), dancing and singing (Hosanna and Super God), and last but not least, the great hunt of the multi-colored eggs 😂😉!

Our little Sherlocks set out on the investigation and came back with a bounty of Easter eggs filled with various toys, stickers, and mini stuffies. Their great search also gave the opportunity for math and counting (directed to find 4 eggs to assure enough eggs per child).

In closing, we just wanted to make sure that you all take pride in the fact that the children at PCS enriched their hearts and minds with God’s love and had fun while doing it.

Take care, and God bless!

March fun with toddler A

March was a fun month learning friendships and colors.
Jesus is always the reason for the season.
Dr. Seuss month was amazing, we explored some of his stories and had fun with silly art.
Bible this month reminds us that Gods love is s so big that we are never forgotten.

February Fun

Welcome to SPRING, families! WINTER has come and gone like that *insert finger snap*. First we want to extend prayers over families and staff who suffered from the fires in any way; and with that, we would like to thank everyone for banding together and surrounding one another in love.

Love is a great segway into our activities in February. We had lots of much-needed fun during the month of love with Valentine’s Day parties, teacher birthday celebrations, and snow days!

During the week of Valentine’s Day, we made strawberry parfaits with the room 3 students and had some help from parents who volunteered with prepping and with reading a story.

Parent volunteers and teachers also teamed up to make heart crowns with the children (art and fine motor) by gluing various sized heart pieces onto a band of paper and taping/stapling the ends together.

Room 3 families blessed us teachers with beautiful custom mugs (literally, with our names on them). This is a good time to thank each and every one of the families in room 3 for our beautiful gifts, we love them!

Lastly, we had SNOW DAYS! Building up to the actual snow days, we read books and sang songs about snowflakes and how to safely have a snowball fight (throw at the legs) so that no one would get hurt (Literature and Comprehension). On the snow days, the children (and even some teachers) enjoyed sled rides down our man-made slope. Meanwhile, others engaged in snowball fights, building snowmen, and making snow angels.

All in all, February was a time of togetherness and fun, which is a reminder that we are all one community under God. Bless you all!

News and Reminders 2025

We are springing into spring and can hardly wait to see what hatches around the preschool.

Did you know Dr. Seuss wrote Green Eggs and Ham using only 50 words? Published in 1960, the book originated from a wager between Bennett Cerf, Random House’s publisher and co-founder, and Theodor Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss. “Bennett Cerf bet me I couldn’t write a book with 50 words or fewer, and I wanted to show him that I could,” said Dr. Seuss.

Over the past 60 years, Dr. Seuss’s books and stories have shaped and continue to influence early childhood literature. We will celebrate him and his contributions at preschool by reading several of his books this month. Thank you, Dr. Seuss, for igniting our imaginations and love of rhyme and introducing us to the worlds within books.

Did you miss our first picture day, or are you hoping for a redo? Make-up Picture Day will be your final chance to officially capture those preschool smiles. Please let us know if you need your picture taken by stopping by the front desk. On Tuesday and Thursday, friends are also welcome to drop by and take their pictures!

Our Fruit of the Spirit for March is gentleness. We will explore what it means to be gentle and read the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Since it is March, we will also discuss St. Patrick, his ministry, and how he used the clover to illustrate the nature of the Trinity, three in one. Chapel is always a wonderful time spent together in worship, fellowship, and praise of the Lord.

Monday, March 10th and Tuesday, March 11th – PRESCHOOL OPEN

The preschool will not be closed for the PCS Mini Spring Break. We will be open for our regular hours on Monday and Tuesday.

Summer Camp Registration – DUE: Friday, March 15th

Will you join us for our Preschool Fun in the Sun or Kinder Camp this year? If so, be sure to submit your summer camp registration forms as soon as possible. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the fun at the preschool this summer and to split your summer tuition into two payments.

St. Patrick’s Day – Monday, March 17th

With a touch of the blarney, we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year with leprechauns, shamrocks, and so much more. The story of St. Patrick is also an excellent time to talk about the call to spread the gospel to the world.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Mid-Year Developmental Profiles – Friday, March 21st

Classrooms will email our mid-year reports for all the kiddos this month. Be sure to take a look. Teachers will happily chat with parents who want to discuss the year’s progress and future.

Snow Day at last!

Our long awaited winter fun has finally come. The day could not have been more beautiful! Room 1 students were so excited we almost ran all the way to the yard.

The sledding hill was the main attraction.

It was so fun on Tuesday we had to do it all again!

Thank you to all the parents who came in to help out! We especially appreciated the help when the snow began to turn into ice.

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth.”

Isaiah 55:10

❤️🧡💛 Valentines Parties💚💙💜

When you ask the class what month we are in their first answer is Valentines! We then remind them that it is February, but it is when we celebrate Valentines and the many different ways that we can show love to each other.

We had some great parties this year and here are some photos:

We had a Photo Booth and the class really enjoyed taking silly pictures with each other (some friends visited a few times😉).
We did everything from decorating our bags to passing out valentines to cooking projects and more. ( we even took a few more silly pictures.)

Ms. Heather and our volunteers made pancakes and they were so good! It was a day full of fun and treats and we are so happy that we got to celebrate together.

Welcome back room 1

We are so happy to be back in action!

Although we can’t make up for lost time, students and teachers are naturals at picking up where we left off.

We’ve been reading new books, exploring new toys and caring for one another.

We have missed small groups and have rushed right back into them. The class asked for them when we first returned.

This week the children have been engaged with marshmallow projects, ice experiments, puzzles, and letters M, N, O, P.

Everyones’ eagerness to return has shown how important preschool is. Moving forward we will continue regular small group routine and keep working towards our skill goals.
