APPLE PUMPKIN DAY

Two enjoyable days for our mini chefs, we made apple pie in a cup for Thursday and pumpkin pie in a cup for Friday. OOOH, Lala!

We smashed and crushed our graham crackers
We filled the cup with crackers on the bottom
Followed by apple pie filling
Then Oooh, Lala!
Discovering what is inside our pumpkins

What a great way to end the month of October!!!!!!!!

October Fun!

We have had a blast this October! From exciting outdoor and indoor activities to a special visit from our police officer friends and McGruff. Our friends went on a nature hunt that turned into an art project we were able to explore and observe after! We wrapped up the month off celebrating our Apple and Pumpkin days by decorating sugar cookies!

A big thank you to our parents for all of your help!

News and Reminders 2025

End of Daylight Savings – Sunday, Nov. 2nd

It’s time to reset our clocks as we “Fall Back” by one hour. This minor adjustment can affect our kids, leading to emotional drop-offs and concerns about how dark it gets while they’re still at school. Classrooms will address the time change, and we are ready to support the children as they adjust to this shift.

As the days grow darker and colder earlier, we will transition from spending afternoons outdoors in the yard and on patios to spending them inside the classrooms.

End of the Day Classrooms:

Older Pod – Rm 1 for Rm 1 & 2

Younger Pod – Rm 5 for Rm 4 & 5 Friends (Rm 3 will remain in their room.)

Toddlers – Toddler A for all our toddler friends.

Preschool Chapel – Friday, Nov. 7th

This month’s chapel will focus on the story of Noah’s Ark. The children adore this story and its emphasis on family, animals, and listening to God. We eagerly await the opportunity to worship and praise God together.

Veterans Day – Tuesday, Nov. 11th

PRESCHOOL OPEN

The preschool will be open for Veterans Day. We are thankful and eternally grateful to all the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country, as well as to the families who support them. We will honor their sacrifice and service with the kids on campus.

Stone Soup Days are one of the most significant preschool events of the year. Based on the beloved children’s book Stone Soup, each child brings a vegetable/food item to class to contribute to the community/class pot of soup. Your classroom teachers or Room Parents will let you know how you can pitch in and be a part of this beautiful preschool annual tradition.

Thanksgiving Break – Thursday, November 27th – Friday, November 28th

PRESCHOOL CLOSED

The preschool will be closed for Thanksgiving Break in the second half of the 4th week of November. We hope and pray that everyone has a fantastic time off, reflecting on what they are thankful for.

From our preschool family to yours…

We are thankful for many things, including love, laughter, and the joy that children bring.

For the hugs and tears, and the bumps we encounter along the way, we are grateful for each new day.

We thank the Lord for His unending love and for the gifts we receive from above.

We also thank Him for the gift of you and for all the wonderful things you say and do.

May God bless you on this Thanksgiving Day. We are truly grateful that you chose our preschool and came to play.

Blessings,
Pasadena Christian Preschool

Happy Birthday, Jesus! – SATURDAY, December 13th, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Happy Birthday, Jesus is a SATURDAY MORNING EVENT. This annual tradition will take place at the preschool and at the PCS main campus, in the auditorium.

From 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., we will host craft activities in all of our preschool classrooms and patios. Children and families are welcome to visit each room to make/create a Christmas craft to take.

At 10:45 a.m., all parents and family members will drop off their preschoolers in their classrooms and then proceed to the auditorium to find seats for our “Happy Birthday, Jesus!” performance. Each classroom has been preparing seasonal songs to share with families. Seeing the kiddos perform as we celebrate the season together as a preschool family is such a joy.

Apple & Pumpkin Day

Oct 30: Apple Day

Today is Apple Day, which marks the first festivity and parent helper of the year. Our students witnessed the arduous task of making apple sauce, molded their own apples out of modeling clay, and ran freely outside in the warm autumn sunshine, among other things.

Overall, Apple Day was a success and the applesauce was a hit, albeit a tad cumbersome.

Oct 31: Pumpkin Day

The kids arrived at school excitable and ready for the day! Today’s agenda: pumpkin spice pancakes with Ms. Kira (spoiler: they were delicious), adorn miniature pumpkins with tissue paper using a paint brush and glue solution, and read some stories about spooky underwear and big green monsters.

See tissue covered pumpkins below.

A friend brought a book in today called: “Creepy Pair of Underwear” and “Room on the Broom,” and below you’ll see a parent reading it aloud to the kids. They were enthralled, not only by the book but his animation! Infliction and humor will get you very far with this bunch.

Pancakes! These were a hit, as they were sure to be! Groups of 6 got to assist Ms. Kira in making the batter and she whipped them up lickety-split! Our little chefs waited eagerly and got to have a pancake with some pumpkin butter and maple syrup. I didn’t get any pictures because I was eating them too. They were delightful: warm and cinnamon-ey, perfect for the season.

Happy Friday!

“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Special Event: PCS Preview Day Fall 2025

Calling all Room 1 & 2 families! Here is your chance to check out the main campus and see the TK and Kindergarten in action. This special Preview Day will be for Pasadena Preschool Families only. Use the button below to RSVP.

Please RSVP by Monday, November 10th. Drop-in care will be available in Rm 1 & 2 at no extra charge during the event for our M/W/F friends. Please let Mr. Tim know if you will take advantage of that care option.

The leaves have turned, and so have we!

The classroom has shifted into something quite magical — we have reached a standstill, an eery calm. The students know what is expected of them, and their execution of these expectations has (nearly) become second nature. Hark, we have become a well-oiled machine!

We look forward, our eyes set on the rest of the Fall season: Apple & Pumpkin Days (with treats), Stone Soup Day (also Thanksgiving), and Happy Birthday Jesus (singing in harmony on stage with synchronized hand movements).

Here are some pictures from October, please take a glance.

Out on the Big Field, racing Ms. Kira.

All of these disjointed photos are from various places around our little planet. Some are taken out on Ms. Liah’s patio, others out on the pavement of the preschool parking lot where the police officers gave their presentation on general safety, and others on Ms. Gwen’s yard.

Don’t forget to ask your child:

  1. What number do we call in an emergency?
  2. What do the police help with?
  3. How do we stay safe on Halloween night?
    • Bring a flashlight
    • Don’t run ahead
    • Never go inside a strangers house. The police officers said: “If they are nice, they will bring candy to or leave it at the door.”
  4. Non-questions include:
    • Always wear a seat belt
    • Remind parents that holding a phone while driving is extremely dangerous
    • We never call 9-1-1 unless it is an emergency

October and Pumpkin Blessings

God picks you from the patch and brings you in John 15:16

As October came along we were excited for cooler weather and pumpkin fun, but our greatest excitement came with new friends in Toddler A. Just as a pumpkin grows , so did our room. We are blessed indeed.

The love from our Lord is oh so sweet.
The excitement we get as friends in our classroom family is just one of the beautiful moments of our day.
