ยกAdios, November!

It’s pretty surreal, but November has quickly left us!๐Ÿ‚

We had such a strong month, full of wonderful moments. One of our favorites was when Room 2 visited Underwood Farms!๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿท๐Ÿถ๐Ÿด

We were SO blessed to go on this adventure together! The best part was that we got to do it as a family! Many parents, grandparents, and chaperones joined us and this made for one of the best days we’ve ever had!

We had the chance to learn from some of the farmers on-site, about how veggies grow! But our most exciting moment came when we got to go out to the farm and pick our own veggies, right from the ground! SO COOL!! Jesus is so wonderful!! It was so precious and beautiful to do this with our friends and family!โค๏ธ

We had a spectacular time!! We want to be sure to thank each parent, grandparent, and chaperone that came!! Apart from it being a special day to explore, more than anything, having everyone together like that reminds us all just how blessed we truly are, and how good our God is to give us sweet tastes of heavenly fellowship here in earth, and in our classroom. We are such a beautiful family, and our hearts are stirred for God and for what He is doing in our classroom. It’s so majestic to see His love in the hearts of our Room 2 friends, and in their families. Amen to that!๐Ÿ’ซ

We wanted to share a message with you all and let you know that Miss Wendy is currently working on creating a private folder, for all of our extra  pictures that sometimes don’t make it on to the blog!(WE HAVE SO MANY!!) And we will communicate with you on how to access it, once it’s ready to go! In the mean time, keep checking back here for more updates, and we’ll see you soon!

All our love,

Room 2 โค๏ธ

Happy Thanksgivingโค๏ธ๐Ÿ‚

It’s not difficult to be thankful with God when looking at these faces. He is so good, and His heart for us all radiates through each of our Room 2 friends.๐Ÿ˜

We want to wish you the Happiest Thanksgiving, and we pray that as you enjoy time with your friends and family, that your heart would find itself being ignited for Jesus; He is so good.

We are so thankful for such a loving and giving God, who loves us so much… May we always remember how much He gave and how much He continues to give. We will see Him face to face one day, and that promise is the best gift of all, and the real reason to celebrate and remain thankful–through the good times, and the hard ones too.๐ŸŒˆ

We hope this encourages you today, and with the deepest love in our hearts, Happy Thanksgiving from Ms. Wendy, Ms. Daisy, and Ms. Kira.โค๏ธ

See you Monday…๐Ÿ‚

Happy November!๐Ÿ‚

Hi, friends! Welcome back to our blog!๐Ÿ˜Š

October came and went, and just like that, we are in November! We are so excited to have you back to check in on what we’ve been up to as a classroom.ย

Ready? Here we go!โ˜€๏ธ

This season, we’ve been working hard, focusing a lot on our learning activities during small groups. Friends have been really applying themselves each week as we enter new stories and interactive activities that create space for critical thinking, as well as practice in our development of fine motor skills.ย

We are EXTREMELY proud of the progress that we are making as a classroom, and of the willingness in our friends to participate as well as their eagerness to learn.๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜Šโ˜€๏ธ

Friends have been practicing their pre-writing skills by tracing over work sheets and working through guided activity sheets that correlate with our Kindergarten curriculum each week. They’ve also been learning about math through measuring different items like pumpkins and practicing counting when making patterns. The best part of our approach is that we incorporate games and art into each activity, and we’ve noticed a natural willingness to focus when those are a part of the work. We are so happy and excited to keep growing and learning together! It’s a beautiful thing.โค๏ธ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ–1๏ธโƒฃ2๏ธโƒฃ3๏ธโƒฃ

During our big field activities, we’ve been practicing our hand-eye coordination by learning to aim well and throw a ball at our friends to catch. We’ve had so much fun!

We’ve had a BLAST!!!โ˜บ๏ธโšพ๏ธ

Before we go, we felt there was one last thing worth highlighting. Lately, our Room 2 friends have really been showing their teachers and each other God’s love in such beautiful and tangible ways. This week, Miss Kira witnessed a beautiful moment between students, when one student went over to pray for another student’s headache. How amazing and powerful is that?! Our friends are understanding that more than anything else, we as a Room 2 family are called to love, pray, share, and simply be like Jesus. We hope that each day we are here, the atmosphere of our room would emanate God’s love, laughter, and compassion. We are all one beautiful family: His.โค๏ธ

So, until next time, we leave you with this thought. We hope and pray that wherever you are that God would give you the boldness and courage to love each day, just like He gives Room 2.ย

Blessings, and we’ll check back in with you soon.โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Love,ย

p.s. As always, we hope you enjoy these candids as much as we enjoyed taking them!๐Ÿ™ƒ

Apple-Pumpkin Day!๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽƒ

Hello friends, and welcome back to Room 2’s blog!๐Ÿ˜ƒ(A note and homemade chocolate pretzels from a student.โค๏ธ)

We’ve had a busy few days in Room 2 and have not had the opportunity to update the blog! But fear not, we are back! We wanted to take a moment to share with you about our amazing Apple-Pumpkin Days, as well as thank the parents that were able to be here!

It was so beautiful for both teachers and students to see parents be involved! We are all a team, parents included, and last week it showed! Take a look๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ“ธ:

What a DAY!! Thank you to the parents who were there and also to the parents who weren’t, but who provided us with supplies for activities! Your participation and support truly means the world, and knowing you are in this with us just reminds us of God’s goodness and faithfulness for Room 2. We are blessed beyond words to have such wonderful parents to work with. Thank you!โค๏ธ

Our parents also helped make our room sparkling clean and twinkling. Go Yoshida and Kayla Lee thank you for all your hard work scurrying and hanging up our new twinkling light. It makes naptime wondrous!!!!!

Lastly, we again want to thank you on behalf of our staff as a whole for the amazing Teacher Treats last Friday!!We felt so loved, appreciated, and blessed. What a blessing you all are. Thank you!

We will check back in soon!!! Blessings!

Your Friends,

The Farmer And His Pumpkins!

Hello Room 2 friends! Welcome back to our blog! We LOVE all of our friends who come and check in with us each week.๐Ÿ˜Š

It’s been a beautiful and wonderful week here in Room 2, full of fun activities and learning. Here are our highlights of the week!๐Ÿ’ซ

On Monday and Tuesday, we had a fun cooking activity! Our friends made pumpkin donuts, and they were DELICIOUS!!๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฉ. **(And a very special Thank You to Dina for all her help! You are a blessing, Dina!๐Ÿ’–)**

We also had a new friend of the week this week! Our friends had the chance to learn about our friend’s life and her favorite things! She also had lunch with her best friend at the Friend-Of-The-Week table! So fun.๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿด

Room 2 also had a fun science activity this week: dissecting Pumpkins!๐ŸŽƒ It was a fantastic opportunity for friends to get in there with their hands and explore how Pumpkins smell, feel, and what they are like on the inside! Some friends loved getting in there, while other friends were a little more hesitant. But everyone gave it a try, and the Room 2 teachers were so proud!

On Wednesday, Room 2 headed outside for our Big Field activity and we played a great game of Martian Tag! Friends went wild, playing on Miss Kira’s Team, The Martians, and Miss Wendy’s Team, The Rangers!

During Morning Meetings, our story this week was “The Pumpkin Patch Parable,” and it told us the story of a farmer and his patience in growing his pumpkins, which were his favorite. The farmer eventually grows his best pumpkin and gives it a face, making it new, and he puts a candle in it, filling it with light. We learned that just like the farmer, God offers His children the chance to be made new, filled with joy and light for the whole world to see and know He is good. (2Corinthians 5:17)

It’s our heart’s desire that wherever you might be reading this, you will feel a part of the growth happening in Room 2. We are so deeply proud of each of our friends and the way they continuously show their teachers, and each other, that they are thriving, shining, and helping each other to love like Jesus does. We pray that you are drawn nearer to God’s loving heart each week as you check in with us, and we cannot wait to check in with you again next week!

Have a blessed week!

Your friends,

Room 2.โค๏ธ

P.S. It was picture day this week! Our friends showed up to school in their Sunday Best! Can’t wait to see how the pictures turn out! In the meantime, here are some extra pictures we hope you’ll love!๐Ÿ’•

Trust, Forgiveness, And Prayer in Room 2!

Hello Room 2 friends, we hope this finds you well!๐Ÿ˜Š

It’s wonderful to be with you again and have a chance to check in on what we’ve been up to this week, here in Room 2. We’ve had such an amazing week of learning, playing, and growing together.

We’ve also had special visitors (Room 2 moms!) come in and teach Room 2 some Korean and Armenian! It was very special to learn how to sing in new languages. Our friends gave it their best, and sounded wonderful! (Thank you again, Evette and Dina.โ˜บ๏ธ)

**PARENTS: Let a teacher know if you’d be interested in coming to our classroom to teach us a song in your language! We’d love to have you!!๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Another special moment was celebrating our Friend-Of-The-Week this week, Ms. Daisy! She surprised our classroom with special visitors: her twin Sister, Car, and with Kennedy, her sweet and mega cute pet dog! Friends had a blast learning about Ms. Daisy’s life, as well as meeting her guests.๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’• It was also her birthday; HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MS. DAISY!

Ms. Daisy also brought with her a special item to share with the class: her coin collection from the many places she’s traveled! As a small science experiment, friends had the chance to use salt, vinegar, and water to clean the coins and see them be extra shiny. See for yourself, below… Very cool, right?!๐Ÿ’ฐโœจ

As each week goes by, the Teachers in Room 2 are amazed and truly inspired as we see the progress that the students are making. From learning  to write, draw, and recognize numbers during small groups, to learning about prayer, forgiveness, and trust in God, like how Abraham trusted God with his own son Isaac… We feel that it’s safe to say that our friends in Room 2 are thriving, and we are so proud of them. We celebrate the way Jesus is growing and using our classroom to shine lots of light and love, both inside the classroom and outside of it too.โค๏ธ

There are also a couple of small but special moments of faith and compassion that we saw happen this week that we’d like to share with you, because we believe it is worth recognizing and celebrating God’s faithfulness in Room 2, no matter how small.

The first is that a Room 2 Teacher, Ms. Jessica, had the special opportunity to listen to a conversation that two of our friends were having during our yard time. After a misunderstanding occurred, she heard one our friends say to another, “It’s ok, I forgive you,” and they were able to resolve the issue without needing a teacher’s help.

How incredible is that? Our hearts were deeply moved to see our Room 2 friends putting Jesus’ love and grace into action. This is TRULY what it’s all about.๐Ÿ’–

The second moment was when a Room 2 friend got hurt on their knee, while playing outside. Once they had their ouchie cleaned and had their fresh bandaid on, they asked Miss Wendy if she could please pray for Jesus’ healing on their knee. It was such a special and vulnerable moment of faith, that we felt it had to be shared. This friend knew in their heart who their Healer is, and didn’t waste any time in asking for prayer from a teacher for Jesus’ healing.โ˜€๏ธ

This simple action reminded us that Faith is simply believing and trusting the truth of how much God loves us, listens to us, and is good toward us. He wants us to ask, because He loves us. It’s simple. Sometimes, we just need to ask Him, like His kids that we are.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.(Matthew 7:7)

As always, here in Room 2 we hope to continue to be a classroom with an open heart for Jesus to shine bright through us as each week comes and goes. Like Abraham, we pray for courage to trust in our good God, and in His plans to prosper us and give us a hope and a future that glorifies Him. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Until next time, blessings.๐Ÿ˜Š

Your friends,

Room 2.โค๏ธ

P.S. Enjoy this week’s pictures!

And We Think To Ourselves, What A Wonderful Wednesday!

๐ŸŽถWe see a field of green, and color cards too! Friends having fun, as the worship time is done! And we think to ourselves… What a Wonderful Wednesday!๐ŸŽถ

Two Teams: Miss Kira’s and Miss Daisy’s!๐ŸŒˆ

Room 2 had themselves such a delightful Wednesday this week!  Our friends had a wonderful time playing with color cards in the big field, as they learned to recognize different colors through play and exercise as a team! It was so much fun!

Friends lining up, as they get assigned a color card and team!

Running for the win!!

We then had a beautiful time of worship with the older kids at the “Big School” for our Chapel service of the week. Some Room 2 friends even saw family members, and it was quite special!

As they waited for worship to begin, Room 2 was practicing a fruit of The Spirit: Self-Control! Just look at that great posture!

 Our friend Kepduring Chapel!

We LOVE those smiles!

The worship songs we sang to The Lord went great with our classroom teaching this week: Noah.๐ŸŒˆ

We learned about Noah from The Bible this week. Noah continues to be an excellent example of what it looks like to trust The Lord. God was and IS truly faithful, and as we practice obedience, His goodness continues to bless us!

As you can see, it was truly a Wonderful Wednesday indeed…

Blessings to you, from your friends in Room 2!

Harvest in Room 2!๐ŸŽ

Hello and greetings from Room 2!๐Ÿ˜Š
Another week has come and gone, and Room 2 has been doing lots of fun activities representing the Harvest season we are in!

Our fun activities this week have been inspired by our favorite fruit of the season: Apples!๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ

We love apples in Room 2 (and we do mean LOVE!)! Toward the very end of last week, friends made art work in the form of “Apple Printing.” The idea of printing with apples is similar to using fingerprints, using apples and paint to see what unique shapes and prints each apple produces.๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽจ

We also had an “apple-tasting center,” and our friends had the chance to really taste the different apples and notice differences in texture, color, and flavor! It was quite the experience, and it gave us the opportunity to expand on our knowledge of a healthy snack that we already love.

Delicious!๐Ÿ˜„

Lastly, our friends got to cook a fun and healthy snack with Miss Wendy, with the special help of one of our parents!(Thanks, Dina!โค๏ธ) the children made Apple Pancake Pops, and they were delicious!๐Ÿ๐Ÿด

Celebrating Harvest has been loads of fun, and has given us much to reflect on as well. The Harvest Season itself encourages us to adopt  an attitude of thankfulness and to be in-tune with God’s heart, as we collect and recognize the many blessings He’s brought us.

God’s Word also tells us that the Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few (Matthew 9:38), and here in Room 2 we are not afraid to ask God to use us to shine His light, love, and heart through us. We pray and ask Jesus daily to make us like Himself, brave and strong to respond in love toward each other and this world. Though we are little, our hearts already beat for Jesus and for who He is…

Jesus. He is who we want to be like.โค๏ธ

We pray that as you read this, you too will feel God’s invitation in your heart to respond to the Harvest Season with thankfulness and courage to shine His light everywhere we are.

“You are the LIGHT of the world… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.” Matthew 5: 14 & 16.

With Love,

Your Friends in Room 2 ๐Ÿ’•

P.S.  Here are some extra pictures that we thought you would enjoy! ๐Ÿ˜€

Happy First Day of Autumn!

It is with a warm smile that your friends in Room 2 would like to wish you a Happy First Day of Autumn! As the first day of the new season comes to an end, our teachers and friends in Room 2 are proud to report that we have finally started to “Fall” into step, as a classroom!๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŒฐ

The teachers in Room 2 have noticed a significant change in the way that friends are responding to transitions in the classroom, demonstrating great team work. Some friends even go as far as helping other friends finish a task, once they are done with their own.
It is quite special, and we are proud of our classroom and of how Jesus’ love is present here. Though we are far from perfect, we are thankful as a classroom to be given opportunities to extend love, grace, forgiveness, and compassion everyday, as God grows these qualities in us.โค๏ธ
This week, to celebrate the start of the new Autumn season, we worked on Apple Printing art! Friends had so much fun exploring different colors and shapes. The artwork was beautiful!
We also learned about the Tower of Babel, from the book of Genesis, Chapter 11. Friends were fascinated to learn about the origins of all the different languages of the world, and we celebrated the diversity of languages in our own classroom! It was a lovely a treat to have our dear friends Ms. Nora and Ms. Cece come be a part of our demonstration of different languages in Room 2.๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ

All in all, we are off to a great start of the new season, and we look forward to continuing to grow and learn together as a classroom in the coming months. Until next week, we leave you with this verse, from Psalm 17. We pray that it would set the tone for your new season as well, just as it has in Room 2.
Blessings and Happy Autumn, from your friends in Room 2!
