Weβve had a fun and eventful week in Room 3! The children enjoyed Easter art projects, Bible stories, and chapel. We even found some bunnies up in the loft!
One of our families was able to come in and do a fun cooking project with the class. We learned how to make rice balls and ate them all, yum!
Pizza party! π
Since itβs finally starting to feel like Spring, we got to enjoy lots of outside time, including a picnic snack and a special music and movement activity.
Another one of our wonderful parents led us in song and dance. Hopping even higher than bunnies π°

Preschool Chapel β Thursday, April 6th
Our Fruit of the Spirit for the month of April is Faithfulness. What a perfect fruit to reflect Godβs plan and promise through His son Jesus Christ. We will read and discuss what transpired on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.βMark 10:45
Good Friday and Easter Mondayβ Fri., Apr. 7th & Mon., Apr. 10th, PRESCHOOL CLOSED
We will celebrate the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ by reflecting on the gift that the cross represents for all of us.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.1 John 4:10
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.1 John 2:2
Easter Sunday β Sunday, April 9th
24On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, βWhy do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 βThe Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.ββ 8 Then they remembered his words.Luke 24:1-8
The angel said to the women, βDo not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:5-6
Hallelujah, He is risen!!
Elks Vision Screening β Thursday, April 13th & Friday, April 14th
The Elks Vision Screening is a free service provided to preschool children throughout California and Hawaii. This screening will happen on campus, in the Art Studio, as a special pullout for our students. Teachers will help facilitate the screening by shepherding students as well as assisting during the screening process. If you are interested in participating in this program, be sure to fill out a vision screening form with the Front Desk at either drop off or pick up. Children need a Vision Screening Form to be able to participate. Hard copies will be available at the preschool, or you are welcome to use the link below.

Summer Camp Registration
Will you join this yearβs βFun in the Sunβ summer camp? If so, be sure to turn in your summer camp registration forms ASAP. Spaces are filling up fast! Summer camp is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, including outside families, so donβt miss out on your chance to be a part of the fun at the preschool this summer.
If you have already signed-up, keep a look out for more camp-specific information over the months ahead.
As we cruise toward the end of the year, we wanted to share a few helpful hints, reminders, and requests.
DOORS & KIDS β Many of our kiddos want to be helpful and open doors; this is great if a parent or a teacher is present, but potentially dangerous if they arenβt. We want to avoid accidents or injuries.
When dropping off or picking up, please be sure you are with your child before they attempt to open or pass through any of our doors, especially the doors leading to our parking lot.
SIGNING IN β As a state-licensed facility, we are required to have physical signatures for children at drop off and pick up. Please be sure you are signing in and out each day. The preschool will be held responsible and potentially fined for every missing signature.
PLAYING at PICK-UP, CLASSROOM RATIOS, and TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES β When you are picking up at the end of the day, we would ask that you be mindful of the other students and teachers that may still be present in the environment. Our amazing staff is legally responsible for the children who are still signed in for the day but, due to ratios and other concerns, are not able to watch children who have been signed out, especially if they are from another class. That is why we would ask adults to limit the amount of time spent passing through our outdoor spaces, both our patios and yard.
You are welcome to take a moment in the lobby to visit the turtles, look at or borrow a book from our lending library, or check out the βZany Zooβ on your way out.
With Winter coming to an end, we wanted to reminisce on all the fun we had during snow days! Our friends in Room 3 got to enjoy the fresh snow first thing in the morning. We rode sleds on the slide, learned how to make snow balls, colored snow, and even had a mini snowball fight with our teachers! Thank you to the office for another great year of snow exploration! βοΈπ·βοΈ
The curiosity approach is an early childhood teaching method that aims to ignite a child’s natural curiosity and imagination. As adults and teachers we sometimes are too quick to model how we want materials used, find ourselves leading play by making suggestions and guiding children through activities we have prepared for them. It is important to take a step back and remember just how capable children are to think for themselves, make their own choices and direct their own learning. We want to equip children with the confidence to make good choices and explore the world around them in safe and enriching ways.
Room 1 was the first to arrive at this Valentine inspired activity. With interests peaked, our older 4 year olds began picking up the materials at this table. They were wide-eyed and curiously asked, “What do we do here?” and “What do we do with this?” With no adult direction, they started picking apart the flower petals, cutting the stems–dissecting the flowers! What better way to learn the parts of a flower than to be given the freedom to do what every child instinctually wants to do–take it apart to explore it! Of course with an activity like this comes the discussion of caring for nature so things can continue to grow. But in this moment and with these roses that have already been plucked from the ground, we are the ones growing–growing in our knowledge of the world around us, growing in life science, and growing in personal discovery.
Check out the way our little ones used the petals to color the water, make observations with magnifying glasses, and discuss their step-by-step process with friends.
A very special THANK YOU to David’s mommy for donating these roses to The Patio for us to explore all week long! We LOVED them!
Our friends have been enjoying a BearyLovely Tea Party on the older pod patio. We are getting the most out of our playtime by using our imagination, practicing important social-emotional skills and developing language.
How unbearably sweet to see our friends care for their teddy bears in such loving ways.
“Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14
Fun things we did before our two fun days with snow at PCS. We read books about snow such as β What do snowmen do at night,β β The Snowy Day,β β The Jacket I Wear In The Snow,β βThe First Day of Winter,β and βAll You Need for a Snowman.β
With this book βWHAT DO SNOWMAN DO AT NIGHT,β many of our kiddos had their own idea on what snowman did at night. Some kids Said; β They donβt sleep.β or β They donβt play because they canβt move. βThatβs silly.β β If you give them hot coco they are going to melt.βWe identified arctic animals and played with ice in the sensory bins, observed and discussed with the kids what happened to ice when it was under the sun. We painted Beanies on the easel and used our fine motor skills to put pompoms on our snowman shaped bottles. The Kids got creative with our large, medium and small boxes, they built high, sorted boxes by size or by decorations. Their creativity had many different forms, angles and kinds of snowman.Ice block truck and a snow making machine.
The last two days before Christmas break were so much fun and we have the pictures to prove it!
We got hot cocoa with marshmallows and a little candy cane spoon! We watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas and ate popcorn. And on Wednesday we did it all over again!
We watched Frosty the Snowman.
Then we had dance parties until it was time to go home.
This week has been full of fun activities and projects. Here are a few photos of all the things we have done!
This week Ms. Daisy made gingerbread with the class. They got to pick their shapes and use cookie cutters. After the cookies baked they got to decorate them and eat them! What a special treat! πMs. Daisy dressed up as the Gingerbread Girl on Wednesday.Mr. Tim also came into our class two days in a row and read How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Thank you Mr. Tim for the wonderful rendition! π
Then we had a school wide chapel where we heard again the story about baby Jesus and why we celebrate his birthday and we also got to sing some fun songs as well!
Joy to the World!
Itβs been a fun week and we look forward to the rest of the Christmas season!
Next week will be just as much fun and even though it be short it will be jam packed!
Please look forward to the upcoming pajama and cocoa days and we will probably watch a Christmas movie or two π.
