Room 3 has been very interested in dinosaurs recently: being them, playing with them and discovering them.

We have been playing with dinosaurs and pretending to be them for a couple of weeks and we are learning things along the way.

Dr. Seuss’ Birthday – Tuesday, March 2nd
Dr. Seuss wrote more than 46 children’s books and stories that have shaped and continue to impact the world of early childhood literature. We will be celebrating him at preschool by reading a few of his books this year. Thank you Dr. Seuss for firing our imaginations, our love of rhyme, and introducing us to the worlds inside of books.
Just for your enjoyment, here are links to two famous Dr. Seuss books that Mr. Tim recorded when we went to distance learning a year ago. Enjoy!

St. Patrick’s Day – Wednesday, March 17th
With a touch of the blarney, we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this year with leprechauns, shamrocks, and so much more. The story of St. Patrick is also a wonderful time to talk about God’s commandment for us to spread the gospel with the world.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
Black history Month is an annual observance for the remembrance of significant people and events in African American history.
With our young kids we decided to introduce them to Garret Morgan by introducing the traffic sign. Red means “STOP,” “GREEN,” “YELLOW,” very, very slow. We introduced the song “Tweekle, tweenkle traffic light.
We shared the history of how Garett Morgan worked very hard as a handyman at a young age. He continued his education and became very prosperous as a sewing machine repairman with his own clothing manufacturing business.
Then we read them a little introduction about Garret Morgan’s inventions. He invented the traffic lights as he saw too many accidents happening. He also invented the gas mask and was known for perfecting the sewing machines belt. By coincidence, while oiling the sewing machine, he discovered that the oil can also make his hair soft.

We read books about teeth and dental health. We made a mouth model with construction paper and used marshmallows and glued on some teeth. We talked about food that makes the teeth strong and how water is good for the body and keeps you hydrated.

Playing is such an important part of what we do at school. During playtime we learn to work together, share, and express ourselves in positive ways.

We enjoy playing with each other! It’s the best part of our day. We greet each other enthusiastically when we arrive and we cheerfully say goodbye at the end of the day.
We are building relationships everyday through work and play.
The kids seem to have more fun on our second day of snow fun. They were pros at climbing on the sled and enjoying the ride down the slope. We had a snowball fight and even got to make a bigger snowman. Hip, hip, hooray!

We read fun books and learn Mandarin words and numbers one to ten from Ms. Melissa

In class we Cooked fried rice it was fun experience, all the children got to put something in the wok and they heard the sizzling sound. “It was tasteful!” Heidi and Kevin (Evelyn’s mom and dad) graciously shared a book “Bringing In the New Year,” dumplings and egg roll as well to have for snack in the class.

Jim Dine, an American painter, graphic artist, sculptor and poet from the Pop Art period was famous for his series of heart paintings.
