Apples! Apples! Apples!

Yes! our 1st cooking  activity was fun, engaging and educational. It was filled with many opportunities to develop social-emotional, physical, cognitive and language development, as we also “support children develop scientific concepts.”

children were very excited to learn about the differences and similarities of apples. Through observation, exploration and tasting of all kinds of apples that were brought by all (Gala, Red delicious, Golden delicious and Honey golden), we were able to record the outcome  of your child’s favorite apple.”Some fun and educational ways to introduce math to your child.”

The children heard and read many apple books, stories and songs, such as “Adam and Eve,” from the Book of Genesis, “Up, Up Is Apple Picking Time,” by: Jody Fickes, “Apple Picking Day, by: Samantha Brooke, “3 in 1,” by Joanne Marxhausen. Song: “Way UP High In a Tree.”  Apples! APPLES! APPLES!If that wasn’t enough we also painted large apples, decorated apples with stickers,  made star print found inside our apple like the story of The House with No Window, No Door and a Star Inside.

God bless Bryce, Grayson, Jacob and May God bless them and guide their future.

Community Helpers of Room 3

First and foremost, a huge thanks to Nicole (Amara’s Mom) for providing us some fantastic costumes for our dramatic play area. The children are ecstatic at the sight of these costumes. We were provided with costumes that represent everyday members of  the community. Our new additions to the dramatic  play wardrobe consist of a Doctor, Veterinarian, Police Officer and Astronaut outfit. The children of Room 3 are enjoying themselves so much as they learn and assume the roles of community helpers.

Trust, Forgiveness, And Prayer in Room 2!

Hello Room 2 friends, we hope this finds you well!😊

It’s wonderful to be with you again and have a chance to check in on what we’ve been up to this week, here in Room 2. We’ve had such an amazing week of learning, playing, and growing together.

We’ve also had special visitors (Room 2 moms!) come in and teach Room 2 some Korean and Armenian! It was very special to learn how to sing in new languages. Our friends gave it their best, and sounded wonderful! (Thank you again, Evette and Dina.☺️)

**PARENTS: Let a teacher know if you’d be interested in coming to our classroom to teach us a song in your language! We’d love to have you!!😃😃😃

Another special moment was celebrating our Friend-Of-The-Week this week, Ms. Daisy! She surprised our classroom with special visitors: her twin Sister, Car, and with Kennedy, her sweet and mega cute pet dog! Friends had a blast learning about Ms. Daisy’s life, as well as meeting her guests.🐶💕 It was also her birthday; HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MS. DAISY!

Ms. Daisy also brought with her a special item to share with the class: her coin collection from the many places she’s traveled! As a small science experiment, friends had the chance to use salt, vinegar, and water to clean the coins and see them be extra shiny. See for yourself, below… Very cool, right?!💰✨

As each week goes by, the Teachers in Room 2 are amazed and truly inspired as we see the progress that the students are making. From learning  to write, draw, and recognize numbers during small groups, to learning about prayer, forgiveness, and trust in God, like how Abraham trusted God with his own son Isaac… We feel that it’s safe to say that our friends in Room 2 are thriving, and we are so proud of them. We celebrate the way Jesus is growing and using our classroom to shine lots of light and love, both inside the classroom and outside of it too.❤️

There are also a couple of small but special moments of faith and compassion that we saw happen this week that we’d like to share with you, because we believe it is worth recognizing and celebrating God’s faithfulness in Room 2, no matter how small.

The first is that a Room 2 Teacher, Ms. Jessica, had the special opportunity to listen to a conversation that two of our friends were having during our yard time. After a misunderstanding occurred, she heard one our friends say to another, “It’s ok, I forgive you,” and they were able to resolve the issue without needing a teacher’s help.

How incredible is that? Our hearts were deeply moved to see our Room 2 friends putting Jesus’ love and grace into action. This is TRULY what it’s all about.💖

The second moment was when a Room 2 friend got hurt on their knee, while playing outside. Once they had their ouchie cleaned and had their fresh bandaid on, they asked Miss Wendy if she could please pray for Jesus’ healing on their knee. It was such a special and vulnerable moment of faith, that we felt it had to be shared. This friend knew in their heart who their Healer is, and didn’t waste any time in asking for prayer from a teacher for Jesus’ healing.☀️

This simple action reminded us that Faith is simply believing and trusting the truth of how much God loves us, listens to us, and is good toward us. He wants us to ask, because He loves us. It’s simple. Sometimes, we just need to ask Him, like His kids that we are.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.(Matthew 7:7)

As always, here in Room 2 we hope to continue to be a classroom with an open heart for Jesus to shine bright through us as each week comes and goes. Like Abraham, we pray for courage to trust in our good God, and in His plans to prosper us and give us a hope and a future that glorifies Him. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Until next time, blessings.😊

Your friends,

Room 2.❤️

P.S. Enjoy this week’s pictures!

And We Think To Ourselves, What A Wonderful Wednesday!

🎶We see a field of green, and color cards too! Friends having fun, as the worship time is done! And we think to ourselves… What a Wonderful Wednesday!🎶

Two Teams: Miss Kira’s and Miss Daisy’s!🌈

Room 2 had themselves such a delightful Wednesday this week!  Our friends had a wonderful time playing with color cards in the big field, as they learned to recognize different colors through play and exercise as a team! It was so much fun!

Friends lining up, as they get assigned a color card and team!

Running for the win!!

We then had a beautiful time of worship with the older kids at the “Big School” for our Chapel service of the week. Some Room 2 friends even saw family members, and it was quite special!

As they waited for worship to begin, Room 2 was practicing a fruit of The Spirit: Self-Control! Just look at that great posture!

 Our friend Kepduring Chapel!

We LOVE those smiles!

The worship songs we sang to The Lord went great with our classroom teaching this week: Noah.🌈

We learned about Noah from The Bible this week. Noah continues to be an excellent example of what it looks like to trust The Lord. God was and IS truly faithful, and as we practice obedience, His goodness continues to bless us!

As you can see, it was truly a Wonderful Wednesday indeed…

Blessings to you, from your friends in Room 2!

Awesome Applesauce Autumn!

It’s the beginning of Autumn and it’s Room 3’s first time cooking! What can be more appropriate for Autumn than something made of apples? Ms. Thelma and the children of Room 3 had a wonderful time washing, peeling, and chopping up the apples in preparation for what would be a delicious snack for children and teachers alike. We used apples, cinnamon, apple juice, and lemon juice to create our pot of awesome applesauce. Room 3 would like to thank all who contributed to this cooking project and we look forward to many more cooking projects throughout the year!

Water Play in the Autumn Heat!

Room 3 had lots of fun splashing in water during this extremely hot week. From dumping water, to creating rivers and jumping in mud, the children in Room 3 could barely contain their excitement.Their desire to play in the water was not only fun, but also allowed for them to cool off.  We look forward to seeing Room 3 play with more fun water toys and doing different water based activities!

Morning Meeting in Room 3

So you might be wondering what the children do after their hour-long adventure on the playground, but rest assured that their day is full of fun activities. Once the clock strikes 10, Room 3 ventures back inside the classroom to sing songs, read many different books and more during Morning Meeting. However, the excitement doesn’t stop there…but let us leave that for another blog post.
