Summer on the Patio

Summer Fun in the Sun is off to a great start on the Older Pod Patio! At the water table, we’re working on fine motor—pouring, twisting on and off bottle caps and other practical skills. We’re also mixing primary colors to create secondary colors. This fun, hands on experience is the best way to build knowledge of color concepts.

We have also been Walking the Plank to practice balance and coordination. This on theme, gross motor activity has all our friends trying to keep their little toes safe from the sharks below. Our bodies and imaginations are working!

Painting, water beads, peg boards, dramatic play grotto, and so much more have all our friends exploring and growing together and it’s only week 2!

Checkout a few of our Room 3 friends taking a break from cooking in our dramatic play grotto to have a jam session on our pots and pans! This is a great demonstration of creative play— these friends found an alternative purpose for our materials and seized the opportunity to explore sound. They’re sharing space and materials effectively and developing an understanding of rhythm and music!

Fun in the Sun Week 1!

Fun in the Sun has been a lot of . . . fun! 🤩

While the preschool was closed the room has undergone a summer renovation. The look of the room has changed a lot and it was fun to see the children discover how things have changed.

The children spent the first day exploring the changes in the classroom.

The submarine has seen lots of underwater adventures!

Kinetic sand has been a classroom favorite and we love finding shells. 🐚

The splash pad was a little slippery but so much fun!

Chapel with Mr. Tim is so much fun! We love dancing along to the videos.

The afternoons have been pretty warm so we have spray bottles to cool ourselves off with!

So far the summer has been a blast and we anticipate what is yet to come!

FIRST WEEK OF SUMMER 2022

Our first week of Fun in the Sun was amazing, we were blessed by our remarkable weather. We played with lots of water, put on bathing suits, dressed up and dance hula music.

On Spirit day we all wore our pink shirts, they all said we look like flamingos. VBS with Mr. Tim in the art room was fun. Story: Noah, Verse: Psalm 139:1, Song: Wherever I Go.

It is fun and relaxing to sit by the pond and watch your kids play.

We had popsicles as we said good bye to Gwen.

Farewell From the Patio

As we end our final week of the school year, our friends on the older pod patio tie up loose ends in their PCS Business Office. They enjoy typing, stamping, making phone calls and, of course, exchanging money. With these little business men and businesses women hard at work, you can rest assured the final week of school ran smoothly.

Art as a Sensory Experience

Art as a sensory experience is both stimulating and soothing for preschoolers. This year, our little ones have enjoyed a ton of process art on the older pod patio.

It’s our last week of school and one of our patio activities is— ice painting! A perfect display of art and sensory colliding in a fun and messy way!

Stackin’ on the Patio

Our friends on the older pod patio are having some fun with can stacking! This open-ended play activity is giving us an opportunity to practice team building, taking turns, body balance and hand-eye coordination. As we stack, we’re expanding our understanding of major math concepts like cause and effect, weight distribution and, of course, problem solving. Check out all the excitement!

Fun Run and Easter Parties!!

The week leading up to the Fun Run was full of anticipation! We got to go to the Big Field on the main campus and we made a day of it.

Then we got to run, skip and dance all around the field! It was so much fun!

The next day we had our first Easter party! We got to tell the story of Easter using Resurrection rolls and then and lunch we got to eat them.

Since it was a party we had to use our pretty tablecloths

We are so grateful that we got to celebrate Easter together and learn about how much God loves us and sent his son Jesus for each and every one of us.

THE JOYFUL LAST DAYS

We are quickly approaching the end of our 2021~ 2022 school year. It has been an honor and a pleasure to have had your children here with us at PCS. We thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s life in this difficult times (CIVID19) and for your trust. You were truly amazing kind and generous throughout the school year. We are thankful to God for bringing you into our humble family. May God bless you all today and always.

It’s hard to believe it’s already the last month of the school year! We feel so blessed to have been together since August and are excited by everything we will do over the next four weeks of May.

The first week of May is Teacher & Staff Appreciation week. We love our teachers, and would love for them to feel all of the gratitude, care and appreciation that we have for them. Our Fruit of the Spirit for the month of May is Goodness. We will be discussing what happened after Christ rose from the tomb and how God sent us a special helper, the Holy Spirit, to guide us as we follow Jesus.

Preschool Family Picnic – Saturday, May 14^th

We invite you to join the fun at our annual end of year picnic! Families will enjoy bounce houses, water play, glitter tattoos, crafts, snow cones, spending time with friends, meeting new families, and more! Please join us for all the fun!

End of the Year Pizza Parties – Monday, May 23^rd & Tuesday, May 24^th

The last week of preschool will kick off with our traditional classroom Pizza Parties. Pizza will be provided by the preschool but there will be classroom sign-ups for additional side items such as fruit, paper goods, and even table décor. The classrooms will be sharing those sign-ups towards the middle of May.

Aloha Days! – Wednesday, May 25^th & Thursday, May 26^th – MINIMUM DAYS

For our last two days of preschool this year, we felt that aloha was the perfect sentiment. Hello to summer, goodbye to our year together, and of course I love you. On both Wednesday and Thursday we invite all the kids to dress in their brightest, most tropical, and Hawaiian best. We will be celebrating the conclusion of our year with special photo ops at drop off and much more.

Preschool Promotion – Wednesday, May 25^th @ 6PM

This year has been amazing! While we did face challenges, it has been a truly fantastic year spent together at the preschool. It is a blessing to watch the children grow up and we are excited to celebrate those students who will be moving on to the next phase of school whether that is here at PCS or beyond.

This year, we will be hosting our traditional in-person promotion ceremony. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for your invitation with all the details.

Preschool Closed – Friday, May 27^th through Friday, June 3^rd

The preschool will be closed to students for cleaning and summer prep. The preschool office will be open to answer questions and help with any summer paperwork that may still need to be done prior to the start of camp.

First Day of Fun in the Sun Summer Camp – Monday, June 6^th

Our first session of Fun in the Sun: Out to Sea! will kick off Monday, June 6^th. Summers at the preschool are chock-full of good times and new adventures, we can hardly wait to get started.

Just a friendly reminder of our Preschool Parking Lot Rules/Requests

Please drive with care keeping an eye on speed and kiddos in the lot.
Children should be directed to stay on the sidewalk during pick-up and drop-off except when accessing their vehicles. Little people are very hard to spot between cars.
Due to limited spaces in our lot, quick drop-offs and pick-ups are ideal.

Thanks for helping us keep our little ones safe, healthy, and happy.
