April showers bring May flowers and so much more at preschool! Hello Spring!

Teacher In-Service Day – Friday, April 1st STUDENT FREE

It is time for our spring teacher in-service day. These days are crucial and provide us the much needed time for training, planning, preparation, and cleaning that can’t be achieved while the children are on campus. We are grateful for these opportunities to grow and improve all that we do in service of the children and families.

Week of the Young Child – Monday, April 4th – Friday, April 8th

Every year we celebrate the wonderful little people we serve and the unique world they inhabit with exciting week long festivities. Each day will have its own special theme and events to look forward to. This week is a national celebration that focuses on acknowledging this fundamental and transformative period of life. Oh to be a young child! Parents are welcome to participate and volunteer, please be sure to check with your class to see how you can join in.

Elks Vision Screening – Thursday, April 7th & Friday, April 8th

The Elks Vision Screening is a free service provided to preschool children throughout California and Hawaii. This screening will happen on campus, in the Art Studio, as a special pullout for our students. Teachers will help facilitate the screening by shepherding students as well as assisting during the screening process. If you are interested in participating in this program, be sure to fill out a vision screening form with your classroom at either drop off or pick up. Children without forms will not be able to participate.

We will be celebrating the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ by taking the day to reflect on the gift that the cross represents for all of us.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2

Easter Sunday – Sunday, April 17th

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:5-6

Hallelujah, He is risen!!

March

There have been a lot of changes this month! We have started small groups again and there are so many birthdays. Here are a few pictures of our busy, busy month.

Small groups have been missed and we are so glad that we can do them again; we are counting and creating and learning!
Counting with ladybugs and mixing play dough are just a couple of activities that we have done lately. We learned that blue and yellow mixed together make a beautiful green.
We watched a short video about St. Patrick and how he taught others about God.
We also painted caterpillars using blue and yellow paint. Mixing is fun!
Outside is always lots of fun! We have an area for concerts and we love to dress up and sing.
A friend brought an egg and we got to dissolve it in water and see the surprise inside. It was fun and exciting!
We love looking at our caterpillars! They started so small and grow every day. We also love seeing our parent volunteers! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm.
Birthday celebrations are so much fun. We are glad we get to celebrate each birthday.
Even though we have clear skies we have been having fun with umbrella and pretending that it is raining.

We also had a visit from an orthodontist last week. He read us a book about how animals take care of their teeth and we talked about how we take care of ours. He also brought David the dinosaur and showed us how to properly brush our teeth.

All of this and the month isn’t even over yet! We are looking forward to all of the exciting things we have coming next and we will keep you all posted.

BLUE AND YELLOW

We are introducing the color green in our class. Reading the book “Little blue and little yellow,” has been a great start. Making blue and yellow playdough and having the kids squeeze and roll the color together was a great hands on experience. Painting on the easel with green was fun and messy, in the dramatic area we have green hats, necklaces and head bands for the kids to wear. We had many more activities that displayed something green sorting by attributes, painting shamrocks with blue and yellow and treasure hunting.

GREEN THEME ACTIVITIES

We read, “Green Eggs and Ham,” and ate the green eggs and ham too.

“LOVING H E A R T S”

What an amazing bunch of kids we have in our class, they enjoy story time, dancing, art, puzzles and cooking. Singing and praying is always a favorite in our class.

All the kids have caring and loving hearts, they show it with hugs and kind word. We learned a new song in our class and is called “H E A R T, “ sang to beat of “ B I N G O. “

Valentines Day

Valentines Day has happened and it was all about love! ❤️💕💖💜 Loving each other, loving our families and loving God!

We still have ice in our yard from snow days! We have been playing with that still!
We decorated with hearts, hearts and even more hearts!
We made heart shaped pizza’s that we got to eat with our lunch.
The pizza’s were so good! 😁
The tables were pretty and the friends loved the decorations.
We enjoyed the pizza and the rest of our lunches!!
Two days of pizza! 😋

We enjoyed the pizza parties so much that on Wednesday we asked the teachers if we could make more pizza!!

Thank you all for everything you did to make our party days special!! We loved it all! 🥰

2022 Lunar New Year

We introduced Lunar New Year to our class by reading some books, listening to rhyming songs in Chinese and tried to guess what song it was playing in English. The kids made lanterns, dragons and cooked fried rice. Thank you parents for supporting the class by bringing the items needed to cook. “GUNG HAY FAT CHOY”

Snow Days!

Snow Days were so much fun! We got to throw snowballs at each other and go sledding and even made colorful snow. It was a blast and here are a few pictures of the fun!
