A Special Guest

Mr. Yorlin brought his pet bunny “Pancake” from home. In class we sat around in circle and instructed the kids to use two fingers and gently pet the bunny. The kids patiently waited for their name to be called, they were very excited, used their listening ears, gentle hands and followed directions on how to pet “Pancake.”

On the week of March 15- 19 we read a”The True King,” John 13: 3-30 from our Bible. We used the little figures from the resurrection egg Easter story as a visual aid to assist the children in retelling us the story of Easter. On the following week we displayed all the pieces on the table the kids got to touch, identify and re- cap the story to use

We made cross impressions on the easel, painted flower bottle stamps and dyed eggs.

For our special morning snack we made egg salad which we ate with crackers a tiny cupcake and grapes.

EASTER IN CLASS#4

Indoor egg discovery. Discovering what was inside the eggs was the main focus and important task for our little friends in class. But as teaches we planned this activity with different skills our little children can gain from it. For example; recalling items in a group, back and forth conversation, spacial awareness, recognize colors and shapes.

LET’S MAKE A RAINBOW

In our small group our little ones got to participate in a color experiment. It only took a little milk, food color, cotton swab and dish soap. The kids reaction was priceless.

Teacher In-Service Day – Thursday, April 1^st STUDENT FREE

It is time for our last teacher in-service day of the school year. These days are crucial and provided us the much needed time for training, planning, preparation, and cleaning that can’t be achieved while the children are on campus. We are grateful for these opportunities to grow and improve all that we do in service of the children and families.

Good Friday – Friday, April 2^nd PRESCHOOL CLOSED

We will be celebrating the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ by taking the day to reflect on the gift that the cross represents for all of us.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:5-6

Week of the Young Child – Monday, April 12^th – Friday, April 16^th

Each year we celebrate the wonderful little people we serve and the unique world they inhabit with exciting week long festivities. This year we will be selecting special themed books for each day of the week that will be aligned with activities for our kiddos. This week is a national celebration that focusing on acknowledging this fundamental and transformative period of life. Oh to be a young child.

Preschool Virtual Open House – Friday, April 23^rd MINIMUM DAY

We will be having a Virtual Open House this year at the preschool. Each classroom will be creating a special presentation that will go live on Friday, April 23^rd. We are excited to share the life and happenings of our campus and while we would love to bring everyone in, we will do our best to bridge the gap in new and exciting ways.

Summer Camp Registration

Will you be joining the “Fun in the Sun” summer camp this year? If so, be sure to turn in your summer camp registration forms ASAP. Spaces are filling up fast and we are still limited by our smaller class sizes. Summer camp is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE so don’t miss out on your chance to be a part of the fun at the preschool this summer.

Starting in April, we will be opening up any remaining camp spots to outside families.

SCRIBBLES

Crayons, colored pencils, stickers will assist young preschoolers in developing the muscles needed to scribble on paper.

CHRYSALIDES

Our baby caterpillars have arrived in time for Spring. We have been observing the changes for this week. The kids saw very tiny caterpillars, as the days go by the kids saw the caterpillars getting bigger. We read the book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”

Next week we will be making egg carton caterpillars, butterflies and discussing the changes of the caterpillars.

Green All Day!

We started off our day with an exciting book reading by Mr. Tim. We all love his visits to the classroom and the fun voices that he does when he reads. Thanks Mr. Tim!

Green Eggs and Ham. Sounds delicious to me! 😋

We danced until it was snack time. We got to request our favorite songs.

The Catchy Song, Freeze Dance, and Animal Freeze by Jack Hartmann were all requested.

We ate Green Eggs and Ham (bacon). Some of us were unsure about the green eggs but we all tried them.

We did an art project from Ms. Monica! We mixed blue and yellow to get green!

We played Flower Shop in the yard outside and we wore them in our hair and decorated Ms. Sheri with flowers.

All in all we had a busy day playing with each other. We look forward to playing together again tomorrow!

GREEN DAY

We had a grand old time with lots of green all around.

Sugar cookie,cheese and crackers for a special occasion.

We read the book Little Blue and Little Yellow. The kids were able to see the transformation to green by mixing both blue and yellow play dough. Voilà!

St. Patrick’s Day/ Dr. Seuss Celebration mash-up!

Today we had a very green day! We decided to combine St. Patrick’s day with Green Eggs and Ham. From the first yard time to the end of the day we were all about green.
