Fun in the Sun! Week 2

Week 2 has been a blast!! This week we heard the Parable of the Lost Sheep in Chapel and rocked out to awesome worship songs like Following Jesus. We all enjoyed splashing in the water and devouring delicious snow cones as well as creating amazing art, cooking projects, and so much more. The culmination of our week together was the Amazing Dave magic show. Amazing Dave was wildly entertaining and we can hardly wait to see what happens next.

Kinder-Camping Fun!

Our first week of Kinder-Camp has come to a close and we’ve had such a blast! We learned letters A,B,C, numbers, writing, math skills, and tons of life lessons with Curious George! And that was all just before lunch! Your, our, little blessings also spent time playing in sprinklers, learning about Creation and Adam & Eve, frisbee playing, badminton tossing, crafting, climbing, running, singing, dancing, and drinking tons of water! We are also learning the importance of using encouraging words with our Bible verse 1 Thessalonians 5:11. This very morning we even learned how to play African instruments and clap out rhythms! We are so excited to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Van Gogh Sunflowers inspired paintings…

The children have been learning about the life of Van Gogh through this fun children’s story, “Van Gogh and the sunflowers”, by Laurence Anholt. We also looked at many photos of sunflowers, fields of sunflowers and Van Gogh’s many still life paintings.

I also demonstrated how to paint a vase filled with flowers, which they loved seeing and creating.

Enjoy the beautiful paintings…

“Indoor Gardening “

On April 2, we started “indoor planting.”  As you know young children lose interest fast, so we thought, “What will grow fast?”  Walaaah! “Beans!”  We read books about plant life cycle,  then planted beans in a zip lock bag and attentively watched for the outcome.  The children saw the different stages in a matter of 7 days.

We also planted many other plants; tomatoes, bell peppers, corn, winter squash, cucumbers, carrots, parsley, basil and chives.  “Come have a look.” We are hoping for the best garden ever.

Easter in Room 5

Hello from Room 5!

We have been quite busy this past week; dying eggs, making rice crispy eggs and hearing the Easter story.

Each of our friends had the opportunity to dye an egg by picking out the food coloring(s) they wanted and placing a few drops on a scoop of rice. Next, they placed the egg on the rice, closed the container, and shook it! Each egg that was decorated had a very unique design!

After we dyed the eggs, we all had the chance to make some yummy rice crispy treats and put it inside a plastic egg!

We have all heard the Easter story, and I know that God is working in our little ones lives and they are able to recall most of the story! Blessings to you all!

Spring Has Sprung!

We have had such an amazingly fun start to springtime in Room 4! We have discovered everything about rainbows! We made them! We ate them! We even pulled rainbows out of Skittles! Ms. Alex took some gorgeous Easter photos of your little blessings as well as some jolly St. Patty’s Day ones. We also painted some stellar crosses! Last week we had the very special privilege of Avery’s dad dyeing beautiful eggs with us! Look for those delights in your parent mailboxes… here’s some evidence of all the fun we had. Oh, and don’t forget to ask your littles to tell you about Jesus’ death and resurrection. With the help of our Resurrection Eggs, we are able to retell the whole Easter Story!
