Le France ‼️

What an exciting week we had as we explored France 🇫🇷 Our children got familiar with their flag and had the chance to make one. They learned organization by keeping blue on the left and red in the right, all while learning to distinguish their colors and keeping the middle part white. We let the children extend their creativity by having wooden blocks available and an Eiffel Tower on the center of the table. From this inspiration, the children created their very own Eiffel Tower. Adding more fun for our little tourists, we made some delicious crepes😋 We are so blessed at PCS! We even had farm animals come to US! While some children preferred to admire from afar, others had the chance to go inside and touch the animals! It was such a great adventure at the big school!!


And of course, can’t forget about our weekly fun in the water 😜

Session 3 is the Place to Be!

Room 5 has had a blast this month growing together in our VBS summer school “Passport to Learning” program! We have welcomed many new friends to school and are enjoy all the fun water play that summer has to offer!

We enjoyed a unit on France and Mexico, we had a private petting zoo, and our own outdoor fiesta complete with piñata and all! Next week while the preschool explores the culture of Germany, Room 5 will be taking a “layover” in Madagascar!

Switzerland in the Summer!

We’ve had a wonderful week with all our new friends in Room 5! We turned the dramatic play center of our classroom into a Swiss Chalet and Hot Cocoa Lodge to go with our Passport to Learning weekly theme of Switzerland! We extended the experience with a Frozen Hot Cocoa party this morning… it was just the pick-me-up we all needed to get our muscles pumping in the awesome Pump’n Splash playground in the Outdoor Classroom! 




The Frozen Hot Cocoa was kind of a big hit…


The Pump’n Splash playground was a S.T.E.M. learning paradise! Not only did we get awesome gross motor physical exercise, and stay cool in this summer heat- but we learned first hand lessons about weight and mass, suction, balance, force, and conservation! …A pretty fun way to learn about physics in preschool…

Session One is Done!

What a hot and fun summer it’s been so far! Room 5 has been busily enjoying the weekly themes and activities in our PCPS Passport to Learning program!

We’ve been to Alaska, Russia, and this week we took a layover in China! We can’t wait for all the fun and new cultures we get to learn about in our next session of summer camp! 😊

COOL FUN IN THE HOT SUN

It has been such a hot week! But, that didn’t stop us from having fun in the sun. Taking advantage that the older pod went on a field trip, the younger pod spent a beautiful afternoon on the big yard. We had the chance to take a dip in the pools, go down the water slide, and enjoy each other’s company. In honor of exploring Norway, our class made delicious Krumkake😋 Our little chefs were so excited about measuring, pouring and mixing the ingredients. However, the best part was eating them along with blueberries and jam! Fri-yay came too soon! We enjoyed this warm day at the big school. Our children and teachers had the chance to go in a water bouncy house! Yay! Each and every smile is a blessing to us and we thank the Lord for being part of the children’s development🙏🏻

Water play and fun galore! 

Room 3 had an awesome time this week playing with water and listening to stories in the Monrovia Library. On Tuesday we had the opportunity to splash in pools on the Big Field. We went to Chapel on Wednesday and learned about Jonah and the Whale. On Thursday we went to the Monrovia library and read stories, danced, had lunch and ate Yogurtland. We had a chance of plans on Friday due to the heat, but that meant that the kids were able to enjoy a bouncy house filled with water! As a bonus we made ice cream to defeat the heat. Overall, it was an incredibly hot and fun filled week.

Magical Moments…..

Well with two weeks of Summer Camp under our belts we are in full swing! Today was simply magical at PCS! We had a very special visitor today, The Amazing Dave! No, no he’s not our newest staff member. He is a magician! We trotted over to the library on the “Big School” campus, our favorite walk, to see a magic show! We laughed, screamed, oohed and ahhed ( we didn’t however get a T-Shirt). Lots of our friends got to volunteer to help with the magic tricks and let their lights shine. We even got to bring home a book of magic tricks to try on you folks! 😜. A great time was had by all! We also enjoyed swimming, snow cones, a Russian fairy tale movie, Veggie Tales, and Beef Stroganoff this week! Whew! Next week it’s on to Norway, Viking style! Well, Christian Vikings anyway….God Bless till we meet again 😍​

Kickoff to an awesome summer!

Room 3 had lots of fun this week exploring the classroom and outdoors. Whether it be our new summer toys inside the classroom or the fun activities outside the clsssroom, there were a variety of activities for the kids to enjoy. Our Alaskan theme was well matched our “snowman” cooking project and the Wolf show. We’re happy to say that this was an amazing start to what will be a fantastic summer filled with excitement.
