Session One is Done!

What a hot and fun summer it’s been so far! Room 5 has been busily enjoying the weekly themes and activities in our PCPS Passport to Learning program!

We’ve been to Alaska, Russia, and this week we took a layover in China! We can’t wait for all the fun and new cultures we get to learn about in our next session of summer camp! 😊

COOL FUN IN THE HOT SUN

It has been such a hot week! But, that didn’t stop us from having fun in the sun. Taking advantage that the older pod went on a field trip, the younger pod spent a beautiful afternoon on the big yard. We had the chance to take a dip in the pools, go down the water slide, and enjoy each other’s company. In honor of exploring Norway, our class made delicious Krumkake😋 Our little chefs were so excited about measuring, pouring and mixing the ingredients. However, the best part was eating them along with blueberries and jam! Fri-yay came too soon! We enjoyed this warm day at the big school. Our children and teachers had the chance to go in a water bouncy house! Yay! Each and every smile is a blessing to us and we thank the Lord for being part of the children’s development🙏🏻

We pray for more joyous moments like these❤️❤️

Water play and fun galore!

Room 3 had an awesome time this week playing with water and listening to stories in the Monrovia Library. On Tuesday we had the opportunity to splash in pools on the Big Field. We went to Chapel on Wednesday and learned about Jonah and the Whale. On Thursday we went to the Monrovia library and read stories, danced, had lunch and ate Yogurtland. We had a chance of plans on Friday due to the heat, but that meant that the kids were able to enjoy a bouncy house filled with water! As a bonus we made ice cream to defeat the heat. Overall, it was an incredibly hot and fun filled week.

Magical Moments…..

Well with two weeks of Summer Camp under our belts we are in full swing! Today was simply magical at PCS! We had a very special visitor today, The Amazing Dave! No, no he’s not our newest staff member. He is a magician! We trotted over to the library on the “Big School” campus, our favorite walk, to see a magic show! We laughed, screamed, oohed and ahhed ( we didn’t however get a T-Shirt). Lots of our friends got to volunteer to help with the magic tricks and let their lights shine. We even got to bring home a book of magic tricks to try on you folks! 😜. A great time was had by all! We also enjoyed swimming, snow cones, a Russian fairy tale movie, Veggie Tales, and Beef Stroganoff this week! Whew! Next week it’s on to Norway, Viking style! Well, Christian Vikings anyway….God Bless till we meet again 😍

Kickoff to an awesome summer!

Room 3 had lots of fun this week exploring the classroom and outdoors. Whether it be our new summer toys inside the classroom or the fun activities outside the clsssroom, there were a variety of activities for the kids to enjoy. Our Alaskan theme was well matched our “snowman” cooking project and the Wolf show. We’re happy to say that this was an amazing start to what will be a fantastic summer filled with excitement.

Our first 2017 Summer fun

We are very happy to see all your little ones back to enjoy a “fun adventure this summer.” We also welcome our new little face and invite you to have a look at our 1st week of summer.

Our Outdoor Classroom Makeover – The New Shed

What did the teachers really do when the children were away last week? Well, aside from preparing the classrooms for their new crew of children, learning new Vacation BIble School songs for this summer’s “Deep Sea Discovery VBS”, and cleaning out all the nooks and crannies, we also gave the Outdoor Classroom a makeover! We can’t wait to show you our new “rustic” shed that was installed last week. On Wednesday, we watched in awe as 5 guys from Shed World came out to hand build this custom shed in one day! This shed adds character to our yard, provides a fun porch for the children to play on, and also creates much needed storage for our outdoor curriculum. It also beautifully complements our newly revamped garden! We can’t wait to show it off to the children when they join us again on Monday!

Check it out from start to finish…

Dear Room 2 Friends☺️,

We want to take a moment to say THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts! We have had the most incredible year, and we really believe that was due to the teamwork and family environment that we built amongst each other throughout the year! Jesus’ heart has shined so bright in our classroom, and His love has been ever so evident in everything we’ve done. It’s impossible to not see how God is on the move among this generation of tiny humans, and we are confident that He has such an amazing call for each of their lives. We pray that as they go and grow, they will remain in His love and truth for their lives.

It’s the sweetest honor for us to have been given the opportunity to walk along side each of them, in this tiny season of their lives that is preschool! It’s been our deepest joy to love them, teach them, and serve them. As we say goodbye, we leave you with this beautiful slideshow of our year together, along with our Room 1 neighbors. We hope that, like us, you’ll always remember our time together learning, growing, and  worshiping God as a family each day, for all He has done, for all He is doing, and all He will do.❤
All our deepest love,

Ms. Wendy💗, Ms. Daisy💛, and Ms. Kira💚.

April’s Check-In!😊

Hi, Room 2 friends! We hope this finds you well!

It’s been a while since we’ve last checked in! There’s been a lot of transition happening, as we prepare for the end of the school year… Can you believe we’ve made it to the end?! Time flies when you’re having this much fun! We wouldn’t have it any other way. The Lord has been such a faithful and good Father to us in Room 2, every step of the way. His heart for this classroom is so evident!❤

Haha, we love this picture of us together!❤

Last month we had an amazing time together as we celebrated Easter! It was humbling and powerful to remember Jesus dying for our sins on the cross, and then being raised from the dead in victory! He defeated death and sin, all because He LOVED us… We all were the joy set before Him, and it was His joy to do what He did, because we are who he thought about as He took on every sin, hanging on the cross. And only He could’ve done it! And now, and throughout all of eternity, we can and will proclaim that LOVE HAS WON!!! Because the best part happened after the cross; 3 days later, HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD! And He is ALIVE, right now!! And His victory is our victory!!! Amen!❤

We celebrated Easter as a Room 2 family, going to chapel, reading books, singing songs, doing art, and we ended by eating together, as a family. It was so beautiful! We want to thank the parents who contributed food, decorations, crafts, books, and most importantly, their time. It meant so much to our classroom!😊

Next up, after Easter, was our last field trip of the school year! Our whole Room 2 crew headed out to the La Brea Tar Pits for an amazing day outside, exploring! We learned about all kinds of fossils, including mammoths, dire wolves, and sabertooth cats! It was fascinating to explore together, as we made the park our outdoor classroom for the day. We had so much fun!

To this day, paleontologists are actively digging for fossils in the asphalt (tar) that is still fresh, after thousands of years!

We also enjoyed lunch together under a nice tree that gave us plenty of shade from the heat!🌳☺️

It was so fun to explore inside as well! There were lots of bones to see, and even a station to experience what it feels like to be stuck in asphalt(tar)!

And check out the size of these fossils, in comparison to our classroom!

We are SO incredibly thankful for everyone who came out on this last trip with us! It was amazing to spend the day together! We loved every minute! We are so thankful for the many opportunities God has given us to fellowship together this year. Here in Room 2, we have a phrase that we use: “Teamwork makes the dream work!” And we can honestly say that being a team with the Room 2 parents this year was one of the best blessings we could’ve experienced. Thank you for your time and effort. We know how much you love because you constantly showed us! And seeing you present with us, was the sweetest encouragement. God’s love has remained perfectly constant each day! What a gift!

As we prepare our hearts to leave Room 2, we hope you know how deeply we’ve loved this classroom this year, and how intentionally we’ve prayed for unity, healing, and love, as we’ve grown together academically. Though academics have always remained important, our focus has also remained on The Heart; God’s heart for Room 2, and Room 2’s heart for Him and each other. It’s been a beautiful season, and now it’s coming to an end… But wow, how excited we are for what Jesus has in store for us all in this next season. We go from glory to glory. Amen.❤

With Love,

Miss Wendy and the Room 2 Team

P.S. As always, candids! Enjoy!
