November is full of so many things from autumn leaves, squash, farm fun, concepts of gratitude/thankfulness as well as times spent with family and loved ones. It is the family theme that inspires this months Bible focus on Noah’s Ark. Noah’s Ark is the prefect story for preschool to discuss the concepts of talking/listening to God, family, and of course animals. The children had a wonderful time singing “Rise & Shine” and “This is the Day” along with reading from our children’s rhyming Bible.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Colossians 4:2

Huzzah to November! We are kicking off the month with lots of fun outside time! We have really enjoyed the wagons on the yard.

We have had so much fun in the sandbox and Mr. Yorlin has made really big bubbles!

Mr. Tim has been a special visitor and he read us a story and played his ukulele. We love singing with Mr. Tim.

We’ve been building and reading and playing all together!

It’s only been 4 days but November has been a blast so far. We are looking forward to the rest of this fun month!
Today was such a fun day! Room 3 had a awesome pajama day. Every single friend showed up in their pajamas! We played the floor is lava on the structure. And danced and danced in the wood chips.
We helped Ms. Sheri with a cooking project and had delicious pumpkin pancakes for snack today!!

Our pajamas were so cool we had to take some pictures! We kept trying to jump in each other’s pictures.

We played on our patio and had so much fun running around!

It has been a very full day in Room 3 and a great way to end the week!
Room 3 is having a fantastic time exploring the Autumn season with fun filled songs, poems, and books that revolve around the seasons most notable symbols, leaves and squash.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Today the preschool took part in the Great California Shakeout. Schools, businesses, and companies across the state participate each year in practicing what to do in case of an earthquake. At the preschool we call our “duck and cover” procedure, “Bunnies in the Hole.” All the classes had a fantastic time running through the whole process from “duck and cover” to mustering all the way to the big field on the main campus. They kids did a great job staying safe and listening to their teachers!

We had our first Preschool Chapel of the school year and we’re so excited! It was a wonderful time spent together singing, worshiping, sharing Bible stories, and enjoying the beautiful day that the Lord has made.
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

Today we had the extreme privilege of a visit from B.G. Hennessy, the current author of the Corduroy books, as well as over 35 other children’s titles. She is the proud grandmother of two of our own preschool kiddos who were extremely proud to share her with us. Each classroom was blessed with an individual presentation by Mrs. Hennessy. The kids from Room 5 to 1 sat in rapt attention as she shared her fantastic and whimsical stories with us. We can’t thank her enough for her visit and sincerely hope she comes back soon.

This morning we welcomed a few Maranatha High School students to be apart of storytime, in Room 3. These third year American Sign Language (ASL) students shared what ASL is and demonstrated their fluency with some fun stories! Our special guests read: How to Babysit Grandma, Butterfly Garden, If You Give a Moose a Muffin, Curious George Curious Kittens, and Ten Little Fish. They taught us a few words like: grandma, moose, puppy, and fish. It was a wonderful opportunity to gain exposure to a beautiful language that many of us do not get to encounter very often. Check out this clip from storytime!
On our field trip today, Room 3 ventured out of the classroom to explore the Los Angeles Zoo! We used picture maps to find our way to flamingos, alligators, giraffes, elephants and other incredible creatures. As we trekked through the zoo with our little ones, we observed and discussed so many interesting characteristics of the animals around us. Together, we invested in building friendships, language development, color awareness, pre-reading skills, listening skills, gross motor development, and expanding our knowledge of the world around us. Check out some fun moments from our zoo-pendous day together!

Thank you to all of our wonderful parents for your participation and for keeping our little ones safe. You make our field trips possible so we thank you for helping us create these moments to remember!
