Almost a week ago we celebrated Apple Pumpkin Days! We made special snacks and made some art. Here are some photos of all the fun!

The second day was pumpkin day and it was so much fun!

Apple Pumpkin Days went well and we enjoyed both days! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered and donated items. The children (and teachers 😁) enjoyed it all!
Speech and Language Screenings – Tue., Nov. 8th, Wed., Nov. 9th, & Thurs., Nov. 10th
Speech and language pathologists from Jabberdogs will provide screenings for receptive and expressive language, voice, articulation, and fluency at the preschool for $35. If you are interested in participating, please complete and return the Permission Slip by Friday, November 4th. (Permission slips are available at the preschool front desk.)
Preschool Chapel – Wednesday, Nov. 9th
This month’s chapel will focus on the story of Noah’s Ark. The children adore this story and its emphasis on family, animals, and listening to God. We can hardly wait to worship and praise God together.

Our kids in room 4 have been preparing for our firefighters visit. We had dress up in firefighters gear, they played with firefighter figures and fire station. We all sang the fire truck songs and read books about fire trucks and fire stations. We were as ready as can be!

The pre-school participated in the Great California Shake Out. We first practiced in class “Bunnies in the Hole,” hide their head and get down and cover their head. The day of the Shake Out we all joined by getting down on the ground, covering our heads, counting to ten, then walking outside the parking lot and making sure everyone was safe outside. The staff and pre-school children walked together to the Elementary School and gathered as one school as we would in a real disaster. Hats off to all the little feet that made the long trail to the designated disaster spot!!

Fire Station 38 Visit is always a thrill for our little ones. Thank you to the officers who came and introduced all their gear and fire truck equipment to our little boys and girls.

In preparation for our visit from the fire department, we are exploring some fire materials on Room 4’s Patio. Check out our friends working hard in their dramatic play area.

Collaborative work is so important for healthy development. When we collaborate we— practice being flexible, learn to share space and materials, reduce environmental waste and build community with our peers! On the patio, we worked together to create some fall nature collages. Stop by the patio to check out our beautiful collaborative creations!

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body…” 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
Small groups is a time when the teachers are able to focus on an activity with a smaller amount of children to be able to assess their development. They usually run for about 5-10 minutes.
Here are some of the skills we focused on in September.
Writing: Drawing lines in salt trays. we drew vertical, horizontal, and squiggly lines.

Science: Observing a reaction. Baking soda and vinegar. This one was a “blast” and their favorite one.

Math: Puzzles. The children put together 4-5 piece puzzles together.

Letter concept: Looking for Letter A’s, both big “A” and little “a”, hidden in the block area.
