Hello Room 5!
This week we had a blast playing in water, climbing, running and splashing with pump and splash!! We are so grateful for this summer and we thank you for all you have done for our class! We can see, without a shadow of a doubt, that these kids have truly enjoyed summer! We look forward to Week 8 and closing out our Summer 2019 program!

This week we were back in the warm water beaches! We got to run around and splash in water again at the big field and on our preschool campus. We got to make cool shirts with sharpies-we can’t wait to show you! Today we got to go to the big school and play with Hula Hoops from Hoop It Up! The kids had a blast! Enjoy pictures from today! 🙂
We have been having such a busy summer! We have been beginning to enjoy the warmer weather again and more water play! We even got to make “Desert Dirt Cups” for those that wanted to participate. 🙂
Today we had a fantastic time getting up, out, and moving with Hoop It Up. We learned how to use hula hoops and how our body benifits from exercise and movement. The kids had a great time with this very interactive presentation.
From the tiny mice and scurrying lizards to a mountain lion and a big horn sheep. Here’s the wildlife that live in the unique lands of both the high and low desert.

What fun it was to see the little ones make their morning walk to the big campus and see their faces glow as they saw the big bounce house. They all worked really hard at climbing, crawling and making their way threw the corn maze, many of them enjoyed the challenge of bouncing, jumping and finding their way out.
“Yes;” in some parts of the world summer can be cold and there are animals, plants and people that live and enjoy the cold, cold water and weather. That is what we read and learn on week 3. 
We are learning to listen and do by using rhythm sticks and the music CD by Hap Palmer. The children are getting really good at listening, following request, count the taps and keeping the beats.
These Art activities kept the children entertained, yarn on a stick, “How Clever”.

They are inspired to find bible stories that we read and enjoy these week.
Is there a better way to close out the first week of the second summer session then a bouncy house and water play?? The answer is “no,” there is not. We have had a BLAST jumping and splashing our way through the day!
God has blessed us with an amazing summer! From the weather to the activities, each day has been a wonderful adventure. Today we had the pleasure of gathering together to worship the Lord as a group in Chapel. We had a fantastic time singing songs and delving into the Word of God. Our focus for today’s Chapel was on the obedience of Jesus in the face of temptation from Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus in the Desert. We learned that God is always there to help us and that we can carry God’s word in our heart to help us make good choices when we are tempted to do the wrong things.
This week’s Bible Verse:
“God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out.” 1 Cor. 10:13
Exploring and introducing the forest this week was fun, and to talk about the creatures we see out there was like second nature to them. The children recognized lots of animals, nature items and sleeping outdoors. How amazing it was to see the children be familiar with the outdoors “Forest” and how they connected to the beauty outside. Ooh!. We found a branch outside and brought it into our class to explore.

We have enjoyed our 1st week of Fun in the Sun (not so much sun 🌞). We have indeed enjoyed playing with water at the water tables measuring, pouring, scooping and splashing water while at the same time “yes, we are staying sharp learning math through these fun activities.
On this week we also explored things we see or do at the Ocean. We captured sounds of the beach, ocean life, birds and different kinds of funny looking rocks.
We cooked, that’s right we had fun making our simple and easy delicious tuna salad, the children thought it was delicious.
