¡Adios, November!

It’s pretty surreal, but November has quickly left us!🍂

We had such a strong month, full of wonderful moments. One of our favorites was when Room 2 visited Underwood Farms!🐔🐮🐷🐶🐴

We were SO blessed to go on this adventure together! The best part was that we got to do it as a family! Many parents, grandparents, and chaperones joined us and this made for one of the best days we’ve ever had!

We had the chance to learn from some of the farmers on-site, about how veggies grow! But our most exciting moment came when we got to go out to the farm and pick our own veggies, right from the ground! SO COOL!! Jesus is so wonderful!! It was so precious and beautiful to do this with our friends and family!❤️

We had a spectacular time!! We want to be sure to thank each parent, grandparent, and chaperone that came!! Apart from it being a special day to explore, more than anything, having everyone together like that reminds us all just how blessed we truly are, and how good our God is to give us sweet tastes of heavenly fellowship here in earth, and in our classroom. We are such a beautiful family, and our hearts are stirred for God and for what He is doing in our classroom. It’s so majestic to see His love in the hearts of our Room 2 friends, and in their families. Amen to that!💫

We wanted to share a message with you all and let you know that Miss Wendy is currently working on creating a private folder, for all of our extra  pictures that sometimes don’t make it on to the blog!(WE HAVE SO MANY!!) And we will communicate with you on how to access it, once it’s ready to go! In the mean time, keep checking back here for more updates, and we’ll see you soon!

All our love,

Room 2 ❤️

Parachute fun!

Last week, the friends in Room 3 were able to experience something a bit newer on the Big Field. Previously, they had fun playing with small parachute men, but now they got the chance to play with a gigantic parachute! We played a “Cat and Mouse” game and had fun running under the parachute. Look forward to seeing more fun games and activities in the near future!

Pumpkin DROP!

To celebrate how thankful we are for pumpkins, we decided to let them go with a bang. Well, it’s more of a thump, but the end result is the same: scattered pumpkin and seeds galore. Brave volunteers stepped onto the ladder and began dropping the pumpkins. Children from the entire school witnessed this spectacle and we all wished them goodbye… at least until next year.

Stone Soup🍵

We all waited for Stone Soup day anxiously! Our children had the chance to pick what vegetable they wanted to share with all of our friends😊. We put our small motor skills into play by washing, chopping, and throwing them in the pot…with the great help of our parents, of course😁! Our children distinguished all the vegetables and got the chance to taste each vegetable individually😋.

After all of our hard work, we enjoyed our delicious soup along with some bread, juice and fruit.

Thank you all for your contributions! Without your help this wouldn’t have been possible🙏🏻. Btw, Room 4 received the Most Delicious Soup Award😉.

Happy Thanksgiving❤️🍂

It’s not difficult to be thankful with God when looking at these faces. He is so good, and His heart for us all radiates through each of our Room 2 friends.😍

We want to wish you the Happiest Thanksgiving, and we pray that as you enjoy time with your friends and family, that your heart would find itself being ignited for Jesus; He is so good.

We are so thankful for such a loving and giving God, who loves us so much… May we always remember how much He gave and how much He continues to give. We will see Him face to face one day, and that promise is the best gift of all, and the real reason to celebrate and remain thankful–through the good times, and the hard ones too.🌈

We hope this encourages you today, and with the deepest love in our hearts, Happy Thanksgiving from Ms. Wendy, Ms. Daisy, and Ms. Kira.❤️

See you Monday…🍂

…And I Can Cook, Too!

Autumn brings with it one of our favorite celebrations at Pasadena Christian Preschool- Stone Soup! Each classroom celebrates the spirit of Thanksgiving by sharing our blessings with one another on these special days. Each child picks out one item to bring to the celebration to contribute to our “Stone Soup” on the week of Thanksgiving.

Now even though Room 5 is the youngest of all the preschool classrooms- we can still cook up a storm! Our 2-year-olds have been busy in the Room 5 kitchen.

Last week we baked delicious and healthy lemon-poppy seed muffins with veggies (zucchini and corn bake very well in almost any recipe!) and everyone participated masterfully!

(Click on the images to view them larger!)

We have also been acting out social situations and role-playing in the kitchen/dramatic play center! We watch as our students set the table, “pour coffee”, mix in bowls, bake in the oven, serve each other, and eventually sit around the table and chat! It fills our hearts to know that they are reenacting and repeating the pro-social behaviors and family values that they see at home. It is so important to remember that we are always modeling for our young children whether we like it or not! The loving attitudes and considerate manners we see the friends in Room 5 act out in dramatic play come from their loving home environments, and that is such a blessing to behold!

The Teachers are Pasadena Christian are very blessed as well by these loving families! We all enjoyed a beautiful spread from the PTF this afternoon. Thank you to all the amazing, hard-working parents who never cease to amaze and bless us at this school.

In this time of great abundance and bounty- that is the celebration of Thanksgiving- we are called to remember the true spirit of abundance and brotherhood. The Bible tells us how to truly be rich and share God’s gifts with others.

“Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.”

Isaiah 58:7

Vegetable Fun!

Room 4 has been busy exploring a variety of veggies! We have been introducing different kinds of vegetables to ease them in to our Stone Soup day. The children had the privilege of choosing what veggie they wanted to bring in for Stone Soup (you know, they love being in control). We are very excited😜

The children had a chance to taste corn in different forms other than the regular old way of finding it in our soups or rice. We exposed them to corn on the cob, corn fritters, a delicious corn salad, and our biggest hit, POPCORN!🍿

We got to practice our small motor skills and hand-eye coordination to chop some potatoes. Then, we put them in the oven and had some tasty French fries😋

We compared and contrasted fruits and vegetables🤗. We agreed that fruits have seeds and vegetables do not. Our kids were very excited and were good at distinguishing them.

Down on the Farm!

Last Tuesday Room 1 headed out to the Underwood Family Farms for our first field trip of the year! Our road to the farm was prefaced with fun books, games, art, micro-dramatic play, tractors, and science exploration focused on farming.

In the “Kid’s Country Classroom” Farmer Alex took us through a fun and interactive presentation about fruits and vegetables…

We enjoyed lunch in the “Sheep Shed”…

Rode a tractor out to the fields with our friends…

Picked cilantro, lettuce, and celery according to Farmer Jen’s instructions…

Worked with our Mommies and Daddies to pick and bag our veggies!

Watched an alpaca kick, a hen jump (not fly), a giant rabbit communicate with her feet, and a Labrador set his flying friends free at The Animal Show!

As our trip came to an end we fed some animals, explored a compactor, ran through a tire tunnel, boarded a wooden train, and climbed a haystack!

Our field trip was a major success thanks to all of our wonderful parents who drove us, looked after us, played with us, and returned us safely to school!

Our prayer this harvest season is that our little ones are sowing God’s word and bearing good fruit in their lives, homes, and classrooms! “The sower sows the word…these are the ones sown on good ground, those who HEAR the word, ACCEPT it, and BEAR fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” Mark 4:14,20
