Wow! What a fantastic Site Work Day! Our amazing group of parents and teachers showed up with coffee, doughnuts and work gloves on ready to beautify the school. We are so blessed!
Cots and classrooms cleaned? Check!
New mulch? Check!
Fluffy sand? Check!
Tree Cookies removed? Check!
Garden overhauled and leveled? Check!

The older pod rooms 1 and 2 created collages using miscellaneous wooden pieces along with small pine cones. They then painted the artwork with a fall palette and finished it off with a dash of glitter for spark. A resemblance of Rauschenberg’s art style and process. I personally loved each one of the pieces.
This week, Room 3 had an amazing time going up to the main campus and playing on what we call the “Big Field.” The children get to do all sorts of things such as playing with balls, popping bubbles, chasing Mr. Timmy and playing a variety of games. The first game we started playing was Red light, Green light and it was a blast. The children made it more fun by striking poses when they had to stop. Please look forward to hearing about many more games in the future from both teachers and the children from Room 3.

It’s been a beautiful and wonderful week here in Room 2, full of fun activities and learning. Here are our highlights of the week!💫
On Monday and Tuesday, we had a fun cooking activity! Our friends made pumpkin donuts, and they were DELICIOUS!!🍩🍩🍩. **(And a very special Thank You to Dina for all her help! You are a blessing, Dina!💖)**
We also had a new friend of the week this week! Our friends had the chance to learn about our friend’s life and her favorite things! She also had lunch with her best friend at the Friend-Of-The-Week table! So fun.🌈🍴
Room 2 also had a fun science activity this week: dissecting Pumpkins!🎃 It was a fantastic opportunity for friends to get in there with their hands and explore how Pumpkins smell, feel, and what they are like on the inside! Some friends loved getting in there, while other friends were a little more hesitant. But everyone gave it a try, and the Room 2 teachers were so proud!
On Wednesday, Room 2 headed outside for our Big Field activity and we played a great game of Martian Tag! Friends went wild, playing on Miss Kira’s Team, The Martians, and Miss Wendy’s Team, The Rangers! 
During Morning Meetings, our story this week was “The Pumpkin Patch Parable,” and it told us the story of a farmer and his patience in growing his pumpkins, which were his favorite. The farmer eventually grows his best pumpkin and gives it a face, making it new, and he puts a candle in it, filling it with light. We learned that just like the farmer, God offers His children the chance to be made new, filled with joy and light for the whole world to see and know He is good. (2Corinthians 5:17)
It’s our heart’s desire that wherever you might be reading this, you will feel a part of the growth happening in Room 2. We are so deeply proud of each of our friends and the way they continuously show their teachers, and each other, that they are thriving, shining, and helping each other to love like Jesus does. We pray that you are drawn nearer to God’s loving heart each week as you check in with us, and we cannot wait to check in with you again next week!

Room 5 is getting in spirit of autumn! We’ve incorporated the seasonal theme into our dramatic play center with a costume dress-up station, into our art projects with marbled leaf printing, and even into our sensory bin with orange corn kernels and black and white striped sunflower seed shells. Songs like “Five Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Vine” have been added into our morning meeting routine, and there’s much more to come!

We’re still enjoying our time in the outdoor classroom before the weather turns cold, and Team 6 has a big hit with their Western themed dramatic play center. Room 5 friends decided to put on their hats and ride the “tractor”…Yeehaw!
We know autumn is a rich time of year where family traditions and special customs bring us all closer together. We would love to hear about your own family’s traditions and what you like to do together as we enter this special season. Pictures, stories, special dishes that you like to make can all be incorporated into our curriculum to help build on the family values that make this time of year so special to us all.

Our littles in Room 1 have been hard at work (and by work, we mean PLAY!). It’s been an extremely busy start to the school year but rest assured our friends are settling into their classroom, their new friendships, and the rhythms of Pre-K quite nicely. Here is what we’ve been up to:

Let’s remember we are “applesolutely” the apple of God’s eye! Psalm 17:8 says, “Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings…”
Room 1 has been memorizing Psalm 56:3-4 “When I am afraid I will trust in you, in God whose word I praise.” We are equipping our little ones with the truth of God’s word, in preparation for what can be a very scary season. In moments of fear or anxiety, we remind our friends that God is our protector, our Prince of Peace! He has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7) but He has given us His Spirit, who helps us have power, love and a sound mind!
Yes! our 1st cooking activity was fun, engaging and educational. It was filled with many opportunities to develop social-emotional, physical, cognitive and language development, as we also “support children develop scientific concepts.”
children were very excited to learn about the differences and similarities of apples. Through observation, exploration and tasting of all kinds of apples that were brought by all (Gala, Red delicious, Golden delicious and Honey golden), we were able to record the outcome of your child’s favorite apple.”Some fun and educational ways to introduce math to your child.”
The children heard and read many apple books, stories and songs, such as “Adam and Eve,” from the Book of Genesis, “Up, Up Is Apple Picking Time,” by: Jody Fickes, “Apple Picking Day,“ by: Samantha Brooke, “3 in 1,” by Joanne Marxhausen. Song: “Way UP High In a Tree.” Apples! APPLES! APPLES!If that wasn’t enough we also painted large apples, decorated apples with stickers, made star print found inside our apple like the story of The House with No Window, No Door and a Star Inside.

Our little Younger Pod students have been having a blast exploring our fall explosion in the big yard. Pumpkins, hay, and gourds! Oh my! Take a look at our discoveries…
First and foremost, a huge thanks to Nicole (Amara’s Mom) for providing us some fantastic costumes for our dramatic play area. The children are ecstatic at the sight of these costumes. We were provided with costumes that represent everyday members of the community. Our new additions to the dramatic play wardrobe consist of a Doctor, Veterinarian, Police Officer and Astronaut outfit. The children of Room 3 are enjoying themselves so much as they learn and assume the roles of community helpers.
