Big Field

The preschool has so many different sensory experiences. There is sand, wood chips, gravel and a myriad of things for little hands to touch.

A place where we can experience something new is the field on the main campus. Once a week we get to walk over and roll and run in the grass.

We love the grass on the big field and it’s such a fun gross motor experience. Here are some photos of a few of our trips there.

We love running and chasing each other

We all got to be part of a tunnel

We had so much fun that we didn’t want to stop and come back. Until I said that we were going to go to patio when we headed back. So we held hands with a buddy and walked back to preschool.

We are enjoying all the sunshine 🌞 and beautiful weather this week!

LITTLE BLUE AND LITTLE YELLOW

Dressing up is one of our new addition the new to our class. They are having fun, Aren’t they cute?
We read the book β€œ Little blue and little yellow, by:Leo Lionni.” We used the context to develop many activities for the month of March. Yellow and blue marble painting, easel painting, yellow playdough for a few days, then blue playdough. When the colors were combined it gave us different shades of green.
Yellow and blue playdough squeezed together made a bright green.
During circle time all the kiddos had a chance to hold little blue and little yellow, as they squeezed and rolled both colors together they were very excited about the different shades of greens.
We made a beautiful rainbow by Using SKITTLES and warm water. We placed the skittles around a plate and followed the rainbow color sequence. We added warm water and watch the skittles bleed out their colors. We also learned the song β€œ Red, orange , yellow, green, blue, purple that makes the rainbow bright, bright, bright.
They were impressed!
Mixed glue, borax and food color is fun and messy, the Gak was very sticky,
Froot loop necklaces, pegs and markers are creative activities to encourage fine motor skills
The children are growing up so fast, they have learned to ride the scooters , bikes, build, follow traffic signals around the bike path and rake the leaves and collect them in a pile to be placed into the trash.

Engagement, persistence, independence, shared use of space and materials are some of the many social emotional developments our preschoolers are exposed to.

News and Reminders 2024

March showers bring April flowers and so much more to preschool! Hello Spring!

Easter Cross Decorating

Help us add to the decoration of our preschool cross over the next few weeks as we celebrate and remember the meaning of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Everyone is invited to bring a flower to add to our cross. Please stop by the cross and tuck your special floral donation into the ropes that twine its entire breadth and width. Β

Good Friday and Easter Monday– Fri., Mar 29th & Mon., Apr. 1st, PRESCHOOL CLOSED

We will celebrate the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ by reflecting on the gift that the cross represents for all of us.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2

Easter Sunday – Sunday, March 31st

24On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, β€œWhy do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: β€˜The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’” Then they remembered his words. Luke 24:1-8

The angel said to the women, β€œDo not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:5-6

Hallelujah, He is risen!!

As we cruise toward the end of the year, we wanted to share a few helpful hints, reminders, and requests.

DOORS & KIDS – Many of our kiddos want to be helpful and open doors; this is great if a parent or a teacher is present, but potentially dangerous if they aren’t. We want to avoid accidents or injuries.

When dropping off or picking up, please be sure you are with your child before they attempt to open or pass through any of our doors, especially the doors leading to our parking lot.

SIGNING IN – As a state-licensed facility, we are required to have physical signatures for children at drop off and pick up. Please be sure you are signing in and out each day. The preschool will be held responsible and potentially fined for every missing signature.

PLAYING at PICK-UP, CLASSROOM RATIOS, and TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES – When you are picking up at the end of the day, please be mindful of the other students and teachers who may still be present in the environment.

Our fantastic staff is legally responsible for the children who are still signed in for the day but, due to ratios and other concerns, cannot watch children who have been signed out, especially if they are from another class. That is why we ask adults to limit the time spent in classrooms and passing through our outdoor spaces, patios, and yards.

Additionally, as a licensed facility, we are prohibited from allowing older and younger siblings who aren’t enrolled in the preschool to play in our environment during our regular hours of operation. While siblings are welcome to come for drop-off and pick-up, they must always stay with their adults while in the preschool.

Families are welcome to take a moment in the lobby to visit the turtles, look at or borrow a book from our lending library, check out the β€œZany Zoo” on your way out, or enjoy the swing. When enjoying the swing, please be mindful of the parking lot and the cross traffic.

Check out some of the fun activities we did on the Older Pod Patio throughout the month of March.

Our friends in Rooms 1, 2, and 3 enjoyed Dinosaurs!

We marble painted!

We enjoyed garden snakes!

We worked together to build a long, colorful “snake” using counting cubes.

We used shaving cream and green watercolor for a sensory/pre-writing experience.

We painted rainbows!

New and Reminders 2024

Can you believe that it’s already March? We are about to spring into spring and can hardly wait to see what hatches around the preschool.

Classrooms have sent out our mid-year reports via email for all the kiddos. Be sure to take a look. Teachers will happily chat with parents who want to discuss the year’s progress and future.

Did you know Dr. Seuss wrote Green Eggs and Ham using only 50 words?

Published in 1960, the book originated as a wager between Random House publisher/co-founder Bennett Cerf and Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss.  β€œBennett Cerf bet me I couldn’t write a book using 50 words or less, and I wanted to show him that I could,” Dr. Seuss.

Over the past 60 years, Dr. Seuss’ books and stories have shaped and continue to impact early childhood literature. We will celebrate him and his contributions at preschool by reading several of his books this year. Thank you, Dr. Seuss, for firing our imaginations and our love of rhyme and introducing us to the worlds inside of books.

Did you miss our first picture days, or are you hoping for a redo? Make-up Picture Day will be our last chance to capture those preschool smiles officially. Please let us know if you need your picture taken by stopping by the front desk.

*Tuesday/Thursday friends are welcome to drop by and take their pictures, too.

Our Fruit of the Spirit for March is Gentleness. We will explore what it means to be gentle and read the Parable of the Lost Sheep.

As it is March, we will also discuss St. Patrick, his ministry, and how he used the clover to explain the nature of the trinity, three in one. Chapel is always a wonderful time spent together in worship, fellowship, and the praise of the Lord.

Our last Teacher In-service Day of the year. These days are crucial and provide us the much-needed time for training, planning, preparation, and cleaning that can’t be achieved while the children are on campus. We are grateful for these opportunities to grow and improve all we do in service to the children and families.

The main campus will be CLOSED for their Mini-Spring Break on Monday, March 11th, and Tuesday, March 12th.

Will you be joining us for our Preschool Fun in the Sun or Kinder Camp this year?

If so, be sure to turn in your summer camp registration forms ASAP. Don’t miss out on your chance to be a part of the fun at the preschool this summer and to divide your summer tuition into two payments.

With a touch of the blarney, we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year with leprechauns, shamrocks, and so much more. The story of St. Patrick is also an excellent time to talk about the call to spread the gospel to the world.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Valentine’s Parties

February is a busy month with lots to celebrate. One of the things that we get to celebrate is love!

We learn about God’s love and about loving each other

Each year we have parties to celebrate and share that love with each other. Here are a few photos of our Valentines week

We also did some crafts with hearts and stickers! Room 3 loves stickers. β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ©΅πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ©·

We also had a couple of parent volunteers come in and they helped with snack and craft and special stories for the day. The class loved having them here!

Our afternoon snack was a special snack mix with very berry Cheerios, craisins, raisins and square pretzels.

We also had fun in our classroom and on the patio!

Fun Run!

Thank you to all our families that participated in our fundraiser. We reached our goal of $25,000 and then some! The children enjoyed running with their parents and siblings.

Thanks for a great time!
